Hey All,
The percentile ranks for star count, star score, and raw star average have been added to the video information. The percentile is in square brackets [] next to the value (star count, star score, star raw). A percentile is the value that occurs every 1/99th places if all the score are lined up low to high. For our scores, the first percentile is low and the ninety-ninth percentile is high. The 99 percentile values are recalculated once per day.
Percentile is useful to help give you an idea of what the star score actually means. If you find a video with the stare score average of 3.680, what does that mean in comparison to all other videos? Given that 3.680 is in the 85th percentile, you know that the video is in the upper range of the star scores. Looking at the star count percentile will give you more information about the reliability of the star score. If the star count percentile is low, the star score is still malleable and subject to a possible swing in value up or down. If the star count percentile is high, the star score is perdy much fixed and thus reflects the overall public opinion of the video.
As a bonus for donators, there is an option to search by percentile in the Super Search.
I hope this helps. Thanks again and have fun!!
Phade.
