Did you go to Anime North 2005?

Postby infernal0321 » Sun May 29, 2005 9:48 pm

Just got back from AN and I'm planning on going out partying again. So who else went to AN this year? I'm really curious on what peeps went because I couldn't find anyone else with the a-m-v.org badge on. I asked a few peeps and they said they seen others walking around with our badge on but I just wasn't in the right place at the right time to find ya'll. Also I'm really curious on what everyone else dressed up as and what video's were who's.

Sadly I wasn't able to cosplay this year but I did enter two vids into the competition. My Dream On - Cowboy Bebop video was honorably mentioned in the novice division, I was totally shocked cause I was just messing around and using WMM. I didn't even show up at the trophy ceremony cause I didn't think I stood a chance of even getting into the finals. Next year I'm going to definitly put some effort into it and come home with the open category trophy. Funny thing is that the guy who won 1st place in the novice was my girlfriend's (the girl with the rainbow tail and bunny ears) dad. The other AMV I entered was the Pulp Fiction - Cowboy Bebop one in the exibition division.

If anyone knows who did the canadian or the panda AMV send me a message cause they was funny as hell. Also I will be posting my pictures on photobucket later in the week.

Quick Summary: What vids were whose and what did you guys cosplay as?

$407?!!?!?! Where were you staying at???? For Next year, if it is at the same location stay at the DoubleTree, Marriott or the Park Plaza and also, you should find others to room with to save on cost and at least have a good time with :)

I was at AN. I entered my Prof. Tomoe, the Science Guy video, but there was a mixup and it went to the Challenge category instead of the Novice category. I didn't get to the awards, but apparently I got an honourable mention.

I wasn't wearing an a-m-v.org badge because, well I didn't know about it.

Anyway, I cosplayed as Rip from the Hellsing manga. I was in a Hellsing group with an Alucard, Anderson, and Seras.

$407 was the cost for 4 people for 2 nights at the holiday inn down the street. We met up with 2 random people in the lobby who also couldnt pay that much, so we decided to stay together. Since were kids (ages: 18,18,20,20) they were really rude and since theres no credit card we had to pay the 407 in cash up front. :x

My friends who stayed in the doubletree paid like 115, so Im gunna stay there next year, cuz I am SO going again.

I went to Anime North this year. It was better than 2004 but not as good as 2003. I managed to get about $120 worth of goods for $58.00. :)

I saw Anamorphic Poroductions there but no other people from the Org.
:(

The AMV screening was really crowded - I to wait until it was 75% over before I could get in and see stuff. :?

As for me spending ways... god damn ppl kept buying the Azudaioh dvds 2, 5, and 6 so i only managed to get 1, 3, and 4 :( now i must wait till CNAnime to pick up the rest

I was at AN. I had a blast..always do! I was Lady Aska from Magic Knight..thou most people didn't know where I was from 'cause I didn't do the ugly cone-hair-do..*shutter* but everyone took my picture anyways...which is funny. I think they thought I was just some random pristress 'casue I was with my cuz who went as Hinoto from X/1999.

I entered my first ever AMV "Endless Sorrows" did anyone see it? People clapped alot for it..but I didn't win :( Some of those AMVs were KICK ASS! I'm surprised that the creaters are newbies. I missed the friday show :( so I didn't see all the SUPER good AMVs. *sigh* I'm babbling too much..I'm goin' to go now......

Well if any of you have pics of yourself at the con please post them here. I'd love to know if I ran into any of you peeps at one point or another.

BTW the Prof. Tomoe also made me laugh my ass off. "Science Rules"

Here is a picture of me and my cuz at AN. It's not the greatest but I'm too lazy to look for a better one.
