DEEP

To be semi-serious about my repsonse: You could always seek out the videos that don't require any knowledge of the anime to fully appreciate. Like, for instance, Metro's "Telephone Love" or Bakadeshi's "Angel's Redemption 2".
Or any of the videos that ignore the original story of the anime and make their own.

Very true. I was only semi-serious in my post as well :P Still, though I know it's possibly, I think it's a little strange to like AMVs but not anime. One prime example I can think of is TheNanashi. He says he hates anime, he just likes to use some of it for artistic purposes.

NERD DENIAL. They somehow think that editing anime to pop music is cool, while merely watching it, and not spending thousands of dollars on 1337 computer systems, DVDs, software, and trips to cons, is for TEH LOSARS.

Nerd denial. ;)

But but... As one of the AMV>Anime ones, I gotta say... If I were in denial over anime - might I note that then what would I be over my far-nerdier hobbies?

Anyway, if anything - I got into AMV's through cons, not the reverse. And I got into the whole thing through liking anime. I think denying that would be quite dumb on anyone's part. I'm yet to see an AMVer who really doesn't like anime. I don't believe it to be possible, in fact...

Now, I wonder how an "AMV vs. Music" thread would look like...

It's pretty obvious we have to listen to music more so we can make amvs. :P
"The way I'm doing it I haven't seen anyone else do EVER. I'm spending so much time on this one and like I said, my formula is working out rather well. All of the series I'm using are just flowing into eatchother, and rather than representing a character from a series, their basically representing good or evil. I know this one will stand out from the rest. I'm confident it will. " - Sephirothskr

I love how you always manage to say exactly what's in my head, but with better grammar, and slightly more panache.
