Quicktime doesn't like MP3 audio in DIVX, XviD, 3ivx files?

Post by Kionon » Sat May 28, 2005 12:43 pm

I'm on a mac, OSX, 1.42ghz G4, 1GB of ram. For some reason, no matter the divx like decoder, if the audio is compressed using mp3, Quicktime decides it won't play the audio. It'll stutter for the first few moments then not work at all. A DIVX file with audio compressed in something else works just fine. A single mp3 alone without a video file will play just fine as well. What is going on here?

Read the mac playback guides on this site, look for the info on the 3ivx doctor thingy.

Go here and download the Mac version. This is what I use to play XviD and Divx files, and it works just fine.

I should have been clearer. The files work find in other players. I was more curious to know why this was happening. I use mplayer mostly.

Thanks for the help anyway.
