Cropping in VirtualDub / Nandub

Postby gypsy » Tue Sep 17, 2002 12:59 pm

Hi all.

I want to start my next project but I'm having a problem I dont know how to fix. :( When I import the video file into Premiere 6 I cant see anything in the Monitor Window. I get a black screen and an white x in the top left corner like when a clip needs to be rendered.

The file is DivX 720 x 480. I'm guessing that the problem comes from the source being as it is so I wonder if anybody knows how to crop a movie in Virtualdub / in Nandub. I want to remove the Black above and below the movie and I hope that this will solve my problem.

My system is AMD Athlon 1Ghz, 256mb ram, Radeon 9000 Pro and 50 gig hdd with WinXP incase anybody needs to know. I can play the file in media player and in the preview area of the bin. I cant get any visuals from the monitor window.

Thanx for the help all. :)

Your problem is that you're using DivX source.

This most probably won't solve your problem, I'm pretty sure it wont. However for future reference, to crop a video in Virtualdub you add the null transform filter and do the cropping from there.
