Since "The Wasteland" is already faring as well as LOTR at last year's Oscars, I think I'll mention Janzki's The Bird Who Flew Too Far

Haibane. Tchaikovsky. Beautiful.

my favorite instrumental AMV has to be purelyshin's Joy of Rebirth! It's one the best evangelion video I've seen in a long time (along with the Wasteland, of course)

"The scene changing with the main melody is absolutely stunning and it's a marvelous choice of song."

10 minutes of sheer, beautiful, dead-on timed, instrumental anime music video greatness. In my mind, it is the definitive Ah! My Goddess instrumental AMV.

3 mini-videos, linked by common ground, metal solos, and great editing.

This is one of the best instrumental videos I've seen to date. The editing is tight, the quality is excellent and the music/action synching is top-notch. Well worth a look.

Missing is a beautiful video created by one of the members of Turboneko studio. It feature Hoshi no Koe with a piano song, and it's really powerful and touching. The scene selected really matches the mood of the song, which leads to a great romance video.

I would defintely suggest bums AMV Blue Outline, it truly has an ambient vibe and defining feel of all the animes included within the AMV.. and an AMV like no other instrumental that I've seen so far..
