Name of the effect?

Postby Konchi » Sun Sep 15, 2002 9:42 am

I was wondering. I want to do that blinking effect in my video, and I know it's a special effect of some sort, but I just don't know the name of it or how I do it. So.. How do I do it and what's the name of the effect?

Thanks.

I'm not 100% sure this is what you want... but it sounds like the Barn Doors transition.

I don't think it's barn door either. I don't know the name 4 it but I think ur talking about the effect that is like a flashing light. I think I found an AMV on this site that had that effect in it. It was an adolesance of utena 1 that was 2 castles in the sky. Why don't u e-mail the person who created it?

Are you looking for the Strobe effect?

You can use the annoying Effect that comes with Premiere or use the rubberbands to make a more accurate effect.

Try the strobe... or just interleave white/black frames with your clip to manually recreate it

If you don't have premiere where you can use their transitions and want to do somethign quickly I recomend you go with what Turbuneko suggested. A white or black frame and move to it and back VERY rapidly.

OR you could use Adobe Afer Effects to get this effect.....it's really simple. Lay out two layers on the timeline: the video layer and the black/white/colored layer that you want to strobe with. Then just set opacity keyframes. I recommend using hold keyframes to make this a lot easier....
