Anime Expo 2005 AMV Creator's Gathering

Postby The Wired Knight » Fri Feb 18, 2005 2:56 pm

Ok guys, I've been discussing this on the AMV list but I'm dropping the info here too. I'm working out details for AX 2005 and from the sound of it we'll be going less formal this year and probably looking at Round Table Pizza. So what I need to know is two things

1. How does this sound to you?
2. What time do you think on the Thursday before the con that I should set the gathering? Last year our only prblem was registration hell but hopefully that will not be an issue this year.

Just to clarify, the Round table is two miles from the hotel on the same street. So it's a very short drive or a decent walk, either way no one is getting lost or I'll be given the right to beat you to death with a bottle of Ramune and then replace your testicles with the glass bead.

round table is fine... as for the time... later in the evening would be better i think.... just incase there is a reg hell this year (tho, they said they would resolve that problem... i doubt it... but i guess i can be hopful...) and also gives more time to those who come in late...

what ever the plan is, i'll be there :P

"Reg hell" is the standing, sitting, kneeling, begging, and whining that happens in a long slow-moving line, all the while knowing that the convention is happening while you're trying to keep some cosplayer's feathers out of your face. Best experienced with someone else who is willing to endure the torment with you. Don't forget extra batteries if you bring a portable DVD or MP3 player.

Note that the magic of "Pre-Registration" does not always rescue you from "Reg Hell". In some cases, it may even be worse in the pre-reg line.

reg hell, registration line, best served with friends that arent cosplaying, a pack of cards to play with is recommended, and a set of spring airsoft guns to plink ppl with.... dont get caught  ;; worst part is man faye is usually around

Wow that's sounds like the terrible experience that was Otakucon! The non-prereg line was way faster than the prereg line. *NOTE* Otakucon was Kunicon's Miami show. Don't ever go to a Kunicon event if you can help it!

Only if you're the man faye.

Lord I hope I don't live to regret that.
