FullMetal Alchemist in Iraq?

Post by Bulghod » Fri Feb 18, 2005 11:44 am

I may be the only one who thought this, but the last episode of FullMetal Alchemist (Destruction's Right Hand), seemed to me to have some Iraq referneces. like in the beginning when they're pulling down the statue, or when the state alchemists barge into the room where the girl is staying with the children, and they argue the difference btwn. Liberating the people from a false priest and trying to control a country.
I may just be looking to close at something, but i thought it was something interesting. anyone else notice that?

It came out in Japan long before the Iraq thing, so it's just a coincidence.

Actually, according to Anime News Network that episode originally aired on January 10th, 2004.

The Saddam statue was brought down on April 9th, 2003.

Take what you will from that.
