But still... Maybe water doesn't have enough of the type of particles in it to make a metal weapon. Either way, I'm going with the time thing.

The atomic mass of water is 18 Atomic mass units (AMU), The atomic mass of iron is 55.8. Now for you to get one thing of iron, you ned about 3 things of water, So to make a certain size of iron you need about 3 times the size of the water, the bonds between the molecules are very tight. But there is alot of space inbetween the nucleous. So there is probably an even greater difference than 3x.

That isn't a problem, since he is underwater at the time. He has all he wants, plus. So, I'll stick with the time explanation I got.

Crimson is red, but it was also the only other alchemist I could think of at the time that was referred to by a color, since I mistakenly thought he was referring to the anime and not the manga.
