Spoiler wrote:He lost his arm (at least) again to save his brother's life. Right at the end (when he's on the train), you clearly see he has the automail back

Spoiler wrote:Oh yeah, that's true. But then why was his mechanic arm limp and useless when he was packing his suit case?

*inverse* = I doubt it was Al, but the trailer doesn't say. The only words that are spoken are from Ed.

His opening words: "In order to gain something, one must sacrifice another of equivalent value. That is the law of Alchemy. Equivalent exchange. Was the pain of our seperation the price for something?"

Then there was the yelling bit: "This is OUR world!"

So, those who have seen all 51 episodes can really get excited about those few lines. :D

Spoiler wrote:I was wondering about that as well. But, when he's on the train he is holding up a map with both arms. I'm just assuming that he still has his automail, and it functions fine.

The one thing I can't wait for is Ed's reunion with Al & Winry. That HAS to happen sometime in the movie (What can I say, I have high expectations ^.~)

Spoiler wrote:Ah, true again. I think you're right. Maybe he was pretending to fool the people around him? The other side of the Gate doesn't have the technology of automail, after all, since it's suppose to be London during WWII.. (i.e. "out world") I think.

Oh yes, certainly! I really hope that happens as well! ^_^ I'm just still very sad about how Al doesn't remember those four years they traveled together. I'm still trying to place my feelings about the ending, ya know? It fit the series and left it very open, yet it bothered me somehow. I dunno, maybe I'm just weird. ^^;

The ending was like that for me as well at first; but I went through the entire series a second time, and I found that everything made WAY more sense. It still bothers me a little though. I had to cover my eyes when *that* scene played. It almost made me cry again...

Of course, the first time I watched it, I crammed in the last 12 episodes at once...at 1:00 a.m. - so you can imagine my reaction to the ending (I was so tired, I never even clued in about who Envy was!)

I know the first DVD is coming out in February...I wonder how long it will take before I get to see the movie...

...probably too long.

Spoiler (again) wrote: Yay, more spoiler tags! (By *that* scene, I mean the end of episode 50, and the beginning of episode 51 - I don't like thinking about it ^^; )

I hope Al will eventually get his memories back. I've created my own scenarios that I would love to happen, but probably won't...

Either way, the things I really want to see happen in the movie would be:
- Ed & Al's reunion
- Ed & Winry's reunion ^.~
- Al gains at least a few of his memories back
- Everybody stays together
- Roy, Riza, Ed, and Winry all go out for a double date

...it could happen...

Yeah, seeing the series a second time seems to make everything more understandable. Although now I'm just going through and watching my favorite episodes. :D And yes... *that* scene, when I first saw it, made my mouth hang open in shock then almost cry... then scream in anger for fear that FMA was going to pull a "Wolf's Rain" ending. ^^;

It depends on how long it takes the movie to get subbed for how long I have to wait, since I doubt it'll get dubbed until several months after it's released. And the dub isn't excatly an excellent one, but it doesn't completely suck either. (I'd say it's somewhere in the middle) But yes, the wait will be too long. :(

Spoiler's That Never End! wrote:The scene that also made me almost cry was when Ed woke up and realized Al had sacrificed himself for him. He stood and started shouting Al's name, looking for him. :cry:

And you read my mind for things that you hope happens. :D I'd espically love the double date thing. I found a picture that's sorta like that, except it looks more like Winry's just dragging Ed out for shopping since they're carrying shoping bags.

See?

Al won't ever get those memories back but there's a reason for it.

Spoiler's That Never End! wrote:
In the FMA world, we're shown (through Hohenheim) that the mind, body and soul are seperate things. I believe that when Ed saved Al's soul, he didn't really put his mind in the armor, just the memories of his soul. When Al was finally reunited with his body, his 'real' memories and mind took over. Basically, it soft of was and wasn't Al in the armour, only a part of him.

That's a good point, generalhs. I never thought about that, but knowing it makes everything fall perfectly in to play. And *inverse*, dream we shall. :D

FMA is one of my favorites, and yes it is confusing at so parts. Its kind of hard to follow up on at time. EP threw me off as well.
