It may not be the best anime but I can at least find three or more members who like Yu Yu Hakusho. Has anyone even heard of the show? All who like Yu Yu Hakusho respond to this topic! . . . :? I'm thinking will there be anyone to resopnd??? You don't have to like Yu Yu Hakusho

A better way of gauging the number of people who like a show is to look at the number of AMVs for the anime yeilded in a super search.

I can garuntee you that there are a ton of people here who like Yu Yu Hakusho (I like it, personally, I just want to wait for all the boxed sets to be released before I start trying to buy them) because I'm sure that there are several hundred YYH videos floating around.

Yep, it's not very high on the 'most used anime' list, not compared to dbz, eva, naruto, sailormoon, and stuff, but it's up there.

I'm a big fan myself, of course.

There have been a number of YYH threads - last I looked there was one on the first page about your favorite YYH characters/couples. Check it out if you haven't, lots of YYH fans replied in that thread.

umm... it's an anime about a boy named Yusuke who gets hit by a car and comes back alive :) he meets new friends and allies as the series go on... and my fav characters are Kurama and Hiei because they are cool!
It's ur typical DBZ crap... but instead more interesting!

Exactly! And hell yeah! Kurama and Hiei are so cool! Ever wonder if Hiei tripped and fell while running really fast or if kurama's rose got tangled in his hair? ^_^ sorry, but it's too funny to imagine  Nah but they're cool

Yeah, YYH is/was actually a pretty popular anime. I heard that it was the only anime to beat DBZ's popularity in Japan (even if it was for just 1 year).

In the Philippine ver. they changed all da ppl's names. They called Kurama 'Denise' because they thought he was a girl at first. Later in the 4 beasts mission, they realized their mistake and changed his gender and name to 'Denis'. Heh, poor guy... Well, despite that big mistake, it was still one of the most popular shows in the country and when the series ended, the fans demanded that they air it all over again.

So yeah, I don't know why YYH isn't as popular here, but I still love it!!

YYH is my favorite anime. I haven't seen all the episodes yet (the dvds haven't all been released yet), but, yes, there are many many many amvs on the site using YYH footage, if not for the entire vid, then as part. I'm having trouble listing it as my #1 favorite anime in my profile but some day ...

Hey, Brolly345, these guys don't have it quite right. he dosen't come back to life, more like he dies but gets a second chance (naturally, there's a bit of a debt to settle). it's a great idea but i'd have to say it goes downhill from there.

??Are you watching the dub version??

Yusuke dies. His body goes cold. He is physically dead, with only the spirit remaining. The Japanese anime makes this very clear. He's about to be buried before his body ceases to be inanimate (legally dead). Only after he makes a deal with Koenma does his heart start up again - before that, he is completely dead. Once the heart is beating, his body is 'back to life', and after his trials, his soul get a physical form again - bringing him back to life.

Now, he does get a second chance. I just don't see why you'd say he didn't die and come back to life. He did. That was the point of his trials, and having someone 'breathe' the life back into him. It's also the 'attention-grabber' of the anime - that they dared to kill off the main character in the first episode.
.
.
.
That said, I think the anime gets good once Kurama and Hiei change sides - and by the Dark Tournament, it's excellent. I don't care much for the pre-sensui arc (no Hiei), or the Makai arc (no Kuwa), but when they're all working together, it's some of the best character interraction I've seen in a 'shonen' anime. But that's just my opinion as a YYH fan. ^_^
