Ripping audio from PS game.....

Postby Digital_Dojo » Tue Jul 09, 2002 7:29 pm

I didn't see a section on this in AD's audio guide, or Quu's videogame guide so maybe someone can help....

Does anyone know of a way to rip music tracks from a Playstation disk? Namely, I want to rip a few tracks from Bust-A-Groove 2, if that will help any...

Thanx...

If the music tracks are in the standard CD format(Redbook I believe). You should be able to use a standard CD audio ripper for them.

Other then that you're kinda stuck, the next thing would be to use a mic and record it while playing the game, or if the game has a sound test or music option, record it while it's doing that.

The only files on the disk are one .str and the rest are .xa...

I guess that "mic-ing" technique will have to do....

Well you're not going to see CD-Audio tracks on the disc in something like windows explorer. If you open it in a actual ripping program, like say Zlurp(only one that comes to mind), then you may see Track2,Track3,Track4...... You can try ripping those.

I opened the disc in my Roxio program, and it didn't find any audio tracks on the cd....

Never thought about psxmc  . Not that it matters anymore, I found the 2 songs I wanted on WinMX.

Thanx...
