How do i make files smaller in premiere??

Postby EvilKrillin » Tue Jul 09, 2002 12:05 pm

When i save my files and export them as avi files they seem to be like 700+MB each time. I have read most things and neither the manual or the online help tells you how to stop this. Can anyone help me???? :x

you have to compress the files later in virtual dub with a mpeg 4 codec of your choice. fell free to test around

You are probably exporting uncompressed avis. Use TMPeg, Virtualdub or nandub to compress your video to a more manageable size.
Refer to the unofficial AMV FAQ (link below) for more info ;)

I'm sorry, but this site already has way too many Brolli vids. No more are allowed to be listed.

Correction: It's virtualdub
no spaces. search at yahoo or google and youll find it at page 1

if you just want to use premiere, do this: Open your project, hit [F8] key, go to Video Processing settings, select a Codec from the dropdown menu there (Do Not choose Uncompressed, RAW, Loseless or HuffYUV codecs, use the others ie cinepak or indeo) and then export.
