That sucks. I was interested in this project when I first saw it because horror is my genre of choice, but I couldn't get the music.SQ wrote:And anyway, it really doesn't seem like this is gonna get off the ground....
I just noticed that you put up mp3s and I downloaded them. It wouldn't extract properly but I got the first song, well, track at any rate, and I think it's awesome.
What I would suggest is keep loking for people, maybe put teasers in sigs etc. and just do the project with as many people as we can get. Even if it's only a few tracks, it would still be pretty cool.
Anyways, I'll try to get the rest of the CD to uncompress properly but I definatly think I could find time to do a track (wether or not there is a project) and hopefully I can get my hands on Texnolyze.

Well, I guess we could do that, and we could select certain tracks.
I took a track off the second disc and did an AMV to it(Beta, really)
It can be found here.
So, if you want an example of what type of AMVs you can make to the music... go for it.
Anyway, if everyone really still is interested, it will be a week or so until I can rip the other CD(computer problems).
But if the people who are interested in this are truly dedicated, I will rip select songs.
Since the people who're interested want the horror songs, I will rip those, as well as the "cool" songs(the ones I like... >_>)
and then we'll see if someone wants to mux them together and make a really tiny multi-editor project.

I figured out how to get all the tracks (I had to set my program to skip existing files and extract it 30 some times, one for each track.) Still deciding about which I like best.
As for mixing tracks, it's not as hard as it sounds (no pun intended.) In my first video I shortened the song and even took out half a verse without anyone being able to find the edits. On my second video, I made an intro using two difrent versions of the song then later I extended the song by about 20 seconds using a simultanious mixture of three different versions of the song.

Are you kidding me? Everytime I edit music, it sounds like uber crap.pen-pen2002 wrote:I figured out how to get all the tracks (I had to set my program to skip existing files and extract it 30 some times, one for each track.) Still deciding about which I like best.

Sorry about the extracting thing... I'll compress them differently next time... ^^;;

I've played both games all the way through (I own them) and I also own both of the soundtracks, but I wouldn't say 'horror' is the best way to describe the music. And, no offense intended, but perhaps if you got the real track names. For example, Track 1 is called Icaro.
Anyway, although this is tempting, I'm in the middle of making my own Shadow Hearts/Shadow Hearts: Covenant AMV, based around the story of the game, and in my opinion, making an AMV using solely the OST music from the first game will, well, leave it fairly empty. If you're going to do it, I suggest you try and splice some of the songs from the first game (such as Sign of Him [The Creation of God] with Evil Gate Opener from the second game.) Also, use the chant from Icaro only sparingly and where it sounds right, otherwise it will literally sound horrible. Try to mix in some of 'The Fate' as well, and of course, 'Sacrifice - Alice'.
Further, you may want to adjust your plan with the music. Mixing together 8 different songs won't work to create the imagry you want to see. Stick to one song to be your base, and edit that one. Unfortunatly, the OST for the first game probably isn't the best choice, as you pointed out, it's mostly sounds odd chords, and short melodies, with only the ending track and the bonus track at the end (track 36 'True Voice') on the second disc. I would suggest perhaps you take a look at the soundtrack for the second game, which features several songs to suit your purpose, such as 'Icaro Again,' 'The Fate,' 'Evil Gate Opener (parts 1, 2, 3 which can be merged to make one continuous song), and the ending track (I don't have the spelling memorized in Japanese, but it means Love Flower in english).
I have done my own editing, splicing, and merging of songs from these soundtracks, and I know what I'm talking about, so don't be stubborn and just dismiss this post. Of course, you're free to do as you like, but hopefully this insight will help you come out with something close to what you're looking for.
