Newbies: How to make your first AMV

This forum is for the general discussion of Anime Music Videos.

Postby cole0123 » Tue Jul 27, 2004 9:46 am

I am new here but I have made a few good Music Videos using Inuyasha anime fansubs frome Anime-Kraze and American Music. I wish the files weren't so big though, I have to shrink them down to WMV in order to fit them on my website. The quality is okay but it could be so much better. Any ideas on a better webhost?

Oh yeah, and don't use fansubs when the DVDs are available... it's looked down upon around here.

Before the flaming starts, you should really post things like this in the
AMV Announcements forum. When and if you do try to be more detailed in what video you would like people to see. There is also the Opinion Exchange.

I'll just say it right now, I'm a newb. I've always loved AMV's and have always wanted to make them but had no clue how. I read through most of the posts and guides but am still confused on how to start. The first thing you need to do is to put the anime's I want to use on the computer correct? And if so, how do you do that, I have tried and I cant capture the footage.

Thanks for understanding that im a stupid newb and any help would be apprieciated.

Attack of the n00b!

Postby thorn_de_noche » Thu Aug 26, 2004 3:31 pm

First things first:

I am n00b, hear me roar.

Next thing: For making AMVs, will Jasc Software's Animation Shop 3 work? Or will I need different software?

(Note: This has probably been covered, but I don't have much time before I have to go and couldn't read all 18 pages)

Ok, if youre a n00b, id recommend " Windows Movie Maker " ( its free in XP and very easy to use ) if youre used to it, i recommend " Ulead Video Studio " and when you feel you can handle the next level, try " Adobe Premiere " or " Vegas "

i think that should help you.... :P

The n00b Strikes Again...

Postby thorn_de_noche » Thu Aug 26, 2004 3:55 pm

Thanks!

So here's my next question: If it comes with XP, can I just pop in my Windows XP CD and install it? I'm like the ultimate n00b, here.
