anyway i whis all the finalists teh best of luck and if anyone wants to see my crap that didn't make it in its on the 5th screening. Not that any of you will go and see it just though i would mention.

anyway hope to see some of you there

toji

oh and if any of you do decide to watch the 5th screening mine is the video created by Bryan Moon (Me wheee) anyway just though i would add. If any of you see it there plz let me know what you thought. if you dont mind that is. Ok im done wasting your time now.

Look, it's a huge step to even consider *entering* a contest. What you're doing is giving everyone else a huge slap in the face as well, saying that overflow's are all crap. Well I'm on overflow, and I happen to like my video. Excuuuuuuse me. Go see your video, see the reaction, and be happy. Don't get into some silly sympathy plee here.

Anyways, I'll see everyone at the con. Look for Miki from Utena along with an Utena from, well, Utena ^_^;;

However, since I didn't pre-reg, I won't be getting my badge until tomorrow. Does anyone have plans to wait in line all night? (I know some folks did last year - crazy fools! 8) )

I wouldn't if I were you. Chances are Staff will chase you off.... or maybe a bom might try messing with you (which is why staff chases you off).

Yeah, prolly not the best idea - we'll just come up super early instead. Hell, I don't even know where the at-door reger's are going to line up anyway.

Oh, my kingdom for another $200 to spend on a room!

Well he has a little bit of a point though everyone is different. You know I needed a little bit of a push to enter my video in a contest (especially since some of the pushing came from hyour general direction). It's a bit of a step to try and muster enough confidence to show something in public at the risk of a bad audience reaction. Some people just gain it faster then others. :P

Toji...you know you must have liked your video at some point or else why the hell would you have sent it anywhere? You know it's not as bad as you are making it out to be. So it didn't get in...join the club. Although I'd be a liar if I said that I wouldn't have wanted it and I didn't get in either. But I'm not about to break down into an inferiority complex because of it. I still love my video anyway. And I know it's not crap. It's different...maybe a bit weird to some people...but it's not crap. It's just not a finalist that's all. It really is not the end of the world and it's not going to ruin my weekend. :?

It's over....I've had my time to shake it off...and now I'm ready to have some fun. :)

Yeah, just because you didn't get in the contest does not mean your video is crap.
There are a number of videos that are GREAT and still didn't make the contest. I happen to know some great vids didn't make the contest because of a mear 0.01 point difference in their review score, from one that did make the contest.

Hell, DokiDoki didn't get in the contest this year (sorry Tim, but ur a good example for this). And this is someone who has made it in, and won first place in his category years in a row.

We woul LOVE to be able to put everyone in the contest.... but who wants to watch a 14 hour contest? That's why we have pre-screenings. It's the most fair way to sort everything out.

Just because you didn't get it does not mean you or your video sucks...

*yawn* Hey guys I've been up all night and I need to leave for down town in an hour or two.
If anyone is interested a bunch of creators are getting together at the Pratt Street Lobby tonight at 7:30pm to go out and get something to eat. You welcome to come.

Is there any official word yet on whether the winners will be announced/played at the Masquerade or at the AMV creation process workshop (or both)?

You can depend on the annoucement happening at the AMV workshop.

I don't want to really get into the gossip. So I'm not going to disccuss any knowledge about the whole cosplay fiasco.

Hey everyone sorry i cant shut up about how much i seem to think i suck. I understand where all of you are coming from (sorry i dont think im making any sense yet) its just that i dont think any of my videos are good. I like them. In fact i dont have a video i dont like (ok so i dont like my first video). I just dont find my self to be a good creator yet. Ill stop telling everyone that my videos suck and just keep that to myself from now on. I would have posted this earlyer but i didn't had an internet connection due to me not wanting to pay $10 a day to get one at the hotel i was staying at.

Anyway thanks to everyone who convinced me that my video may not suck.

The Winners

Postby Noky » Tue Aug 03, 2004 9:52 pm

It's been a good 3 days since the last day of Otakon. Is everyone waiting for the official announcement or do you just not know who won?

Everyone's waiting for the official announcement. Geoff (Superios) said it won't actually be up for another week or two.

But the winners can all be found here:

I can honestly say I do not know, lol. Infact the only AMV I saw all weekend that had to do with Otakon's stuff was Vlads.

As for Geoff announcing the winners, you guys will have to wait till he has access to a computer ><

Easier to just follow the link.

I'm sorry to bother anyone, but I am trying to track down a video that was in the prescreenings. I was trying to find it on the org, or anywhere, but cannot. On the prescreening ballot, the video was listed as:

Title: The Boney King of Nowhere
Footage: Nekojiru-Sou (Cat Soup)
Audio: Radiohead - There There

I tried to find a creator listed for this video title on hackerzc's site:

http://westware.8m.com/TEMP/Overflow.html

...but the title isn't listed anywhere on it. Did anyone see a video using Cat Soup in the overflow tapes? If so, do they know who created it? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
Done. Guarding.

Nope, sorry. At the prescreenings, the title cards for the videos didn't have who created them on them.

Shouldn't all coordinators for a con as big as Otakon be required to have basic resources - such as a car to go to meetings, a phone number, and a computer with Internet access?
