"Raspberry Heaven"? That song is the Azumanga Daioh ending theme. I strongly doubt it's about drugs. Perhaps it is more about (non-drug induced)happiness in your life, with the people you know and love. I don't think the Japanese broadcasting ministry or whatever their FCC equivalent is would allow it, despite some of the stuff they do show. After all, Japan is a country that only recently allowed birth control pills to be prescribed, AFTER Viagra was approved, is having problems with teenage sexuality and violence, is not big big on free speech or standing out too much, and is not big on bringing things into the open.

Azumanga is about anything BUT drugs. It is hilarious, though.

*smirk*

Reading about that song (I haven't heard it yet) is what actually made me start to like Ayeka. Mreheheheh.

Uh, anyhow, Cibo Matto is known for intentionally silly songs, if memory serves...

and the most disturbing song I've heard so far is "Country Death Song" by the Violent Femmes. *shivers* Very understated. Makes you pay so much attention by one point that you nearly jump out of your skin.

what's with all this j-pop crap.
Do you people actually like j-pop or do you just listen to it because you want some japanese girl to think you are "cool".

That's hardly a fair statement. Most Jap girls actually don't think J-pop is all that cool. And they hardly would think you are cool just because you listen to J-pop. Or for that fact would other girls think you're cool just because you listen to the music from their country. They might think you are "different" but never "cool" until they actually know you better.

..It's better tehn american pop music.

American Pop music just sucks, it's gone downhill.

And besides...some J-pop sounds cool, I like the ones where they randomly throw english phrases in it.

*sighs* A classic ren and stimpy song

Kilted Yaksmen Anthem
Stimpy
Remember the royal anthem of the kilted yaksmen!
Our country reeks of trees
Our yaks are really large
And they smell like rotting beef carcasses...
And we have to clean-up after them
And our saddle sores are the best.
We proudly wear women's clothing.
And searing sand blows up our skirts.
Ren and Stimpy
And buzzards, they soar overhead.
And poisonous snakes devour us whole.
Our bones will bleach in the sun.
Stimpy
That's it!
Ren and Stimpy
And we will probably go to * * * *.
And that is our great reward
For being the - uh - roy-yal
Canadian kilted yaksmen
Stimpy
Come on everybody

Our country reeks of trees
Our yaks are really large
And they smell like rotting beef carcasses
And we have to clean-up after them
And our saddle sores are the best
We proudly wear women's clothing
And searing sand blows up our skirts
And buzzards, they soar overhead
And poisonous snakes devour us whole
Our bones will bleach in the sun
And we will probably go to * * * *
And that is our great reward
For being the - uh - roy-yal

*thewhacker gives shinto a big bag of cocain* so very true

how do you know if the person singing the j-pop isnt singing about 80 year old men that like to rape young boys and how the singer participates in these gruesome actions.

I listen to whatever fits my mood at the moment. Sometimes that means jpop, sometimes metal or even jazz or classical.

Right now I'm streaming a live Jean Michel Jarre concert from Denmark.

Screw what other people like or think of what I like.

I don't like Jpop, I like JRock. There's a major difference. Pretty much any form of pop I can't stand, the type of music with that happy-plastic feel to it.

JRock does music the way it should be done, by the actual musicians. Lots of JRock groups can also more than hold a candle to bands from the U.S. or Europe.
I mostly listen to JRock right now because they're with it, unlike most of the new American rock coming out which frankly is just crap.

And for your information, I do understand most of the lyrics in the JRock I listen to.
