Well Otohiko said hge'd like one so here it is.

However lights try to spice this thread up a bit-post some comments on your own or others' music choices, please don't just post what you're listening to, in essence.

Red Hot Chili Peppers - "Can't Stop"

I'm trying to get into RHCP mode seeing as I'm seeing them in Hyde Park on Friday-WHOOPS! miss a day of school!

King Crimson - Red

It's a classic. Desert-island-Frippmetal. Highly recommended to anyone looking for some instrumental heaviness.

To spice things up further, I'll add that if there are an overwhelming amount of posts that only list the song and nothing else, then I will shut down this thread. Aside from that, carry on.

Kalmah - Principle Hero

Excellent Finnish hybrid of NWOSDM and black metal, with a nice positive message for everyone in the USA.

It's cases like this that fill me with hope and disappointment for extreme metal: Kalmah is always chock full of smart, insightful, political lyrics, but the vocalist's delivery renders them just this side of unintelligible....even with the lyric sheet in hand.

So, comments-included-only?

Alright, I hope this can keep up. That's what I do in threads like this elsewhere, frankly, so it should be no problem for me (hope others just kind of follow...)

***

Frank Zappa - Peaches en Regalia

Hilarious fusion-jazz. How an instrumental can be hilarious is, frankly, beyond me, but it is. One of my all-time favorite short pieces.

Johnny _ System of a Down.

I guess modern rock? I think it's really their best song. Weird lyrics and a crazy solo are what make this song one of my favorites from any band.

DJ Encore's "Out There"

Dramatic and sentimental songs like this one usually makes my heart ache especially since I keep refering this song to Koop's Through Time, Through Space.

Right now I keep putting George Clinton's "stomp" back on top of my playlist today It's just good american funk that keeps me pretty much oblivious to the amount of crap im really dealing with here at work.

Man I haven't listened to DJ encore in a while I have a bunch of his vinyl's sitting in my shelves.

Well, since I made a rule, I suppose I should contribute...

The Killers - Smile Like You Mean It

A couple of my friends are into them and their debut album Hot Fuss just came out here so I'm giving them a listen right now. I like what I'm hearing so far (this is the third track). I'm not the best at describing music but they put me in mind of 80s British pop/rock bands like The Cure and Psychedelic Furs. All solid songs so far.

Barenaked Ladies, "Upside Down." One of my current theme songs, a rather neurotic song about pathologically avoiding change, even good change, out of fear of upsetting the applecart. *dreamy sigh*

I almost wish I could vid it, but it has a strange rhythm and I'd most likely screw it up. It's from their most recent disc, Everything to Everyone. Which I thoroughly like, even if one of my favorites (the misleadingly punctuated "Yes! Yes!! Yes!!!") is only on the bonus DVD.

Okay, that's all for the mainstream portion of our thread. Back to My Music Is More Obscure Than Yours, Part XXXXXXXIIII. ;)

Not too obscure, I hope.

Black Sabbath - Iron Man

Since Ozzfest is coming to Texas soon (or already has, I'm not that big a fan), the local rock station has been playing a lot of Sabbath. And this song has always appealed to me. 'Cause it rocks. And rolls. All night long, sweet Suzie....

How about this gem I found

Green Jello - Obey the Cow God

NOT Green Jelly, the original Green Jello version. Which is quite bad. :)
