Do away with both damned chats and be done with it? What a freaking concept people! Then everyone can be pissed. And we'll all be equal.

Now this is a plan that I can get behind. Pissing off as many people as possible is always fun.

Might as well bring everyone in on the fun, right?

If they just posted a link to the AIM chat room and had a generic Fight the Power statement and without bitching, I'd be in full support of such a banner. Whining and bitching gets you nowhere, it's reasonable conversation that'll get you a receptive audience that'll be willing to help you out.

To you it's quibbling. To us, it's what we do. I'm going to get things better organized in the near future and it will look more "professional". Here's what I believe:

I believe that we should have one place affiliated with AMV where we can speak our minds however we choose. I don't want to have to check myself before I type something because some "Big Brother" will be watching me and could stop me from ever saying anything again. At least in the AIM chat...you could speak a free mind and if someone doesn't agree with you, they can put you on the IGNORE list. But it isn't fair for us to have to be dominated over with all of these rules and people are more than ready to ban us for not abiding by every little rule.

I'm sorry - being able to speak your mind is one thing, getting complaint after complaint of abuse in the AIM chat room is another thing.

I enjoy chatting in the AIM room but the abuse that happens in there from time to time is not something we can affiliate with the site. The aim chat room is there as it has the ability to ward off trolls and keep them away.

People have a right to not be attacked on their personal AIM accounts just because they entered a room. The org cannot be affiliated with any chatroom that causes that to happen. Sorry.

Disclaimer:
The AIM chatroom for the site, AnimeMusicVideos.org, may contain harmful or explicit content, as we here at the ORG cannot moderate it. Please enter at your own risk. Any and all complaints from this day forward regarding the AIM chatroom will be automatically deleted. You have been warned and if you find it offensive, please do not return or go in the first place.

Now what is so hard about putting that on the site somewhere? This isn't fair to the people who still enjoy the AIM chatroom over IRC...one being me. All you have to do is be like Pontius Pilate, acknowledge it and wash your hands clean. There's nothing wrong with warning people before they come in right?

Yeah, he's being a smartass.

I don't see why you people are posting in here if you don't give a damn one way or another. It's useless spam. Just stick to your other threads because at least I'm trying to fix what I think is right!

I bet that more than half of those complaints are by newbs. God, they aren't suppose to know whats going on. Newbs usually take everything the wrong way, I'm sure that we've all been picked on as newbs once before. I'm not saying it's right, I'm not saying it's wrong. Yes, we should've been nicer to newbs, but all they ever fucking ask about is something that can be found in the guides, and then they complain back saying that they can't find it. God, more or less, they just piss us off, so what do we do? We try to get rid of them, seriously, who the fuck would want some newb annoying them every 5 seconds with horrible spelling, ridiculous accusations, and rude manners? I sure the hell wouldn't. I'm not saying I've been the meanest or nicest to newbs in the past, but by god, taking the link off of a website, deeming it of it's officiality(if that's even a word o.O..), and replacing it with a moderated one, just because some newb complained is pretty stupid =/.. Yes, I'm sure there have been events in where than there were non-newbs complaining, such at the .Org Elite, hating us because we're so fucking immature and what not, and don't use the chat JUST to talk about AMV's. Anyway, my idea still stands. IRC= help chat for newbs, AIM= regular chat WITH A WARNING, like some kinda Javascript pop up or something when they click the links =/.. Yes, I know the chat is still there, but with the IRC as it's counterpart, the AIM chat doesn't get as much recognition as it used to, and yes, I realize that you can be in both chats at once. :?

It was not the complaint of a new member but, even if it was, new members have just as much place on this website as anyone.

New members who are rude will be banned just as much as regular members who are rude to them. The rules apply both ways but the fact of the matter is that people have frequently complained about being rudely abused on the AMVorg chat room and the only way to prevent this is to have a chat room that is moderated.

If you think that being abusive has its place, then I'm afriad we will just have to agree to disagree.
