Recommended Codecs to enter a Con contest??

what codecs do you guys use/recommend for your avi videos when you enter your AMV to a contest at an anime con..?

It depends..
Some places only accept mpeg2 files..
Some video tapes...

You just have to look at their rules and file format requirements.

Mpeg-2 files are the what most cons accept.

it all depends....Otakon for example wants mpeg2 however you can send them any file format (or rather send it to Quu) where they will then re-encode the video into mpeg2. However like hitori said:

If you learn how to encode an MPEG2, then you can burn a DVD video, which will get you into many, many cons... just remember the blank space before and after!
