Whats the best program for making vids???

Postby friezat2 » Sat Aug 31, 2002 2:27 pm

I have Adobe Premiere 6.0, Adobe After Effects 5.0 and Windows Movie Maker. Now, does anyone else know of a good program at all. I can't use Premiere because I don't understand it. I have a Pentium 4 1.8 Ghz computer with 512 megs of ram so it can take anything. Any advice at all would be nice.[/img]

I didn't understand Premiere when I first looked at it. Then I decided, okay I'll just sit the fuck down and dredge my way through.

Make a simple video with just transitions in it ;) Then move up to other things like the transparency rubberbands, keyframing, keying.. ;)

That stuff..

Then there is always the manual. Premiere is pretty basic and lays it out there for you. I don't think another program would be as easy at it is.

But you can try Windows Movie Maker.

Same thing with AE for me. I didn't understand it, and I still don't understand it, but one of these days I'm going to sit down for a few hours and figure it out.

You've got good enough programs, question is do you have enough brains to try and figure out the Adobe nightmares?

Best thing I can say about learning any software is sit down and screw around with it. Even if you manage to screw everything up, it's a lesson learned, and you know better next time. What it boils down to is experience is the best teacher you can ever hope for. So take that copy of premiere and don't stop til you've crashed it at least 50 times! (j/k)

And read the manual that comes with it, it's a good guide.
"If someone feels the need to 'express' himself or herself with a huge graphical 'singature' that has nothing to do with anything, that person should reevaluate his or her reasons for needing said form of expression, possibly with the help of a licensed mental health practitioner."

Well, anybody who's smart enough to warez something ought to be smart enough to figure out the program they warez, yeah?

Right?

Right?

On the off-chance you didn't steal Premiere, AE, or that 1.8 GHz P4, there's excellent documentation in the manuals. And it always helps to just fool around.

Microsoft movie maker is basic but handy! It is easy to make and add clips but I have not seen its muic capabilities, I am sure it will work if not thats what adobe premiere is for right!

I think you should try to learn primere, I think that it is the best. WMM limits the ammount of effects you can use and I heard that After Effects can be really hard to use.
