Multi Track video zooming.

Postby Brolli411 » Mon Sep 02, 2002 3:19 pm

Sorry in advance if this has already been posted somewhere, but trust me, I looked!

After watching AD's Shameless rock video, I've always wanted to know how to do this. If you have seen it, you should recall when they are looking at the big monitor and all the different images circling in and out of it. So far, This is all I have. What I need help with is how to set the zoom on the other tracks. (Such as where the kitty is.) All will be appreciated.

1 - do not use transitions, use motion settings (look up in help files or manual)
2 - It's not a kitty, it's a dog called Menchi.

I thought you would show off your l33t 47track layering screen shot :D

Doing that stuff in Premiere is a pain :( I just spent 30minutes in there and have come to the conclusion that Premiere has the worse transform routines ever invented.

Two options:

Use Motion settings and change transperancy type to Alpha.
User Transform Effect and change transperancy type to Alpha.

Both options are annoying as hell, Transform is more precise. Motion is easier since you can actually move a thumbnail of the image around and place it, but you CAN'T zoom in to make sure it's correctly placed on a edge, or exactly in the center. Also motion processes faster then the slow-as-hell transform effect

I would use After Effects for composite shots like these. After Effects was designed to do these kinds of things and does them very easily and simply - just load in a clip, size it, place it, feather it, etc, and you've got it. You can even use Corner Pin to distort the image so that if your video monitor that you're overlaying onto is at an angle, so is your overlay.

Sorry this doesn't answer your question I just want to fix a problem.

Menchi is a dog, she may look like a cat but she is a dog; she is from excel saga.
There is a cat in FLCL, and I believe it was in the Shameless Rock video, that cat happens to bear a striking resemblance to Kuronekosama. Ok I'm done.
