Uh... I've used Adobe Premiere. I do a lot with it, actually. I guess it all depends on what you want to tdo with the song.

I edit and sample audio with Soundforge 6. Rather nice program and worth the money, you can basically do ANYTHING with it. Cool Edit and Goldwave are also nice, but lack some functions that Soundforge has.

After sampling, then sequence using Jezkola Buzz 1.3 (a lot like Impulse Tracker if any of you remember the good ol' days of MODS ^_^) or Propellerhead's "Reason" (eh...it's like 'Easy Bake Music' but it has some good functions).

Okay, this is good. Cool Edit...I'm gonna check it out and see what it can do. This might be the perfect solution for my next Video.

As for other sound edting tools that might be useful:

www.webattack.com

There's some freeware tools here tha that might help. I found none that seem to fit my preferences but maybe you'll have better luck.

Anyway, I wanted to keep this thread alive since it's so much more helpful then the one I posted, (Dumb me, I should looked harder.) This will make it more convient for people to access should they have the same questions in teh future.

There's another software that seems promising. I'm currently trying to learn it. It's called Audacity and you can download it for free at the site i posted above.

So far it's been easy to use, it comes with a full help manual and it is a freeware, meaning it's free to use. The tutorials are easy to follow, almost as easyy as ErMac's guides.

My audio guide has a whole section on using Audacity to shorten the length of your audio for use in an amv, if you are interested (link below)

Super thanks AD! I'll try that out after I finish remixing my first version of Spieluhr. I'm having so much fun mixing things up, I wish I had found this stuff earlier. It's a wonder nobody else is doing the same things with the music they choose. This Remix of Rammstein is gonna so kick ass!!

One supper cool tool I found to help save my azz when dealing with wav files is to use the Ultra simple Sound recorder software that comes with windows to convert the sounds to cd wave form.

Open Sound Recorder. Open wav file. Save files as...change format to cd quality (so it can mix better with ripped music), save.

In Audacity...Import file. Insert silence, choose when you want the sound, then insert sound, de-amplify sound (so it stays int eh back ground), play play test. Repeat as necessary.

This is really awesome. A piece of cake. And again, thanks AD!
