Yeah, that's what I'm doing. It's just that I've never heard of some of these people before, yet it seems like everyone else has. I'm not special.

Best:

1 - Korn
Random order: KMFDM, GNR, Led (and Dread) Zeppelin, Pearl Jam(first 2 maybe 3 albums), White/Rob Zombie, Soundgarden, Van Halen, AC/DC, Alice in Chains, Nirvana... ok that's too many now!

Worst: (can't listen too without dying of boredom or pluggin' my ears with pencils)

1 - Rap that uses music(?) that consists of someone hitting a tin can with a stick + little boring orchestra samples. (I can at least tolerate rap otherwise ... like the Fear of a Black Hat Soundtrack! :) )

2 - Country in general is painful.

3 - Boy bands and loud female singers are usually painful. (some...)
I have sinned. I made a video I wanted to make that was music + anime + sync + action + effects/transitions. Oh lordy.

Oh yeah, I don't have a five most hated because there would be a tie for 1st place that would consist of about 1000 different bands/singers. :P

Hmm... I'm just curious. Why is it that so many people hate/dislike SOAD? They're not that much like other Nü Metal bands, their lyrics are totally different. Granted, I started liking them a little less after Toxicity came out just because they were so overplayed. But it seems that they have a purpose with their lyrics, excluding a few songs.

I don't mean to offend any fans by this, but they're the U2 of Nü Metal (if that's what they are considered). Or, at least, they were.

i love soad because of their lyrics. they are nothing like most nu metal bands(linkinpark, slipknot, drowningpool) because mainly, they are extremely talented. for one, serge(sp?) is a great vocalist. and the drummer is incredible. as is everyone else in the band. and i agree with flint, i got so pissed when toxicity came out. it's an OKAY cd. but nothing compared to their first. it was just so great. and they actually do have a meaning with some of their songs. take prison song for example. and war. and sugar. AND SPIDERS! let's see linkin park make a song about growing up in lebanon and treated like vermon his entire childhood to ONE DIE RISE FROM THE ASHES AND ESCAPE THE HELL THAT IS THE MIDDLE EAST!!

however, they do piss me off to no end when they did the following things:
1. make a song for the scorpion king sound track
2. make a song for the xxx sound track
3. cover a black sabbath song

those are the only things i can think of that really made me ever consider them being even mediocore. they are great. their music is great. and this post is too fucking long for just a simple soad fan boy to be posting.

in closing, soad is great. i am choosing to exclude them from the nu metal lable seeing how they are vastly superior to any other nu metal band! THEY HAVE MEANING TO THEIR LYRICS!! SPREAD THE WORD!! SPREAD THE WORD!!

Okay....

Anyways I usually don't stick really alot of artists because its a mircle for someone to actually make a album worth listening to/buying... so outside of the legends: (Micheal Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Mighty Sparrow, Al Green, Curtis Mayfield, James Brown, Little Richard, Marvin Gaye, Ritchie Valens, Buddy Holly, Patti LaBell, Arthea Franklin and the countless other legends...) here is my list of top 10 faves and hates...

Faves (In No Order)
1. TLC
2. Prince
3. Wyclef Jean (& The Fugees)
4. The Crystal Method
5. BoyzIImen
6. Old School Rap & Good New Rap (The Roots, K-Os.. etc)
7. Janet (Miss Jackson If You're Nasty)... Maddona is trying to keep up with her... since the release of Janet... its hard to think of a female performer that has really been on a role as Miss. Jackson.
8. Jamiroquai
9. Vocal Singers like: Tamia, Deborah Cox, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey (Pre-Fantasy), Vanessa Williams, Toni Braxton (Pre-whore days)
10. Funny, joke like music: BNL, Weird Al, Corky & The Juice Pigs

1. Bad New Rap (Ja Rule, No-Limit Losers, Etc..)
2. Backstreet Boys
3. Marylin Manson
4. R&B songs that re-use Good Rap hooks
5. Mariah Carey (Post-Fantasy)
6. Grease Soundtrack
7. Elvis (Never liked his voice nor the few songs he wrote)
8. Mostly Everything...

Some Artists I do like but thats mostly because they hit the bullseye with one CD and never achieved that feat again:
Oasis-What's The Story (Morning Glory)
-Great album... can't say the same for their other stuff
112-112
-Good Album, went into a totally different direction to get popular
