AFO3 AMV Winners at Loews Cineplex 20 at CityWalk

Post by Legionair » Sun Sep 01, 2002 5:16 pm

Just a reminder that we will be replaying the winners of the Anime Festival Orlando 3 AMV Contest at this month's Anime Explosion showing.

This month's Anime Explosion will be happening on Friday, September 20th. We will be showing "Kaze no tani no Naushika" (Nausicaä of the Valley of the Winds).

Seating will begin at approximately 11:40 PM. You will need to pick up a free wristband to attend the movie, which we will begin handing out at approximately 10:30 PM. As always, parking is free after 6PM at Universal CityWalk. For more information regarding the Anime Explosion showings, please visit: http://anime.jyu.fi/~fleggett/visualguide.html

This month will be a special showing since we will be showing not only the AFO3 AMV Winners, but the recap video as well. Which means every contest entry is going to get a least a little bit of time on the wide screen.

On related Miyazaki news, you may have already heard that Disney will be doing a limited release of "Sen to Chihiro no kamikakushi" (Spirited Away). As it currently stands, there is no plans to release it anywhere in Florida. We currently working to have the Loews Cineplex be one of the theatres the movie has a first run showing.

To make this a reality, we have to prove that there would be interest in seeing it. Which means we need your help. Please visit http://www.cosplaylab.com/events/spiritedaway.asp and sign the online petition. This list will be given to the booking agent of the Cineplex so that he can prove that their is an interest for the movie.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at legionair@aol.com or visit the Anime Gaijin America website (www.animegaijin.org).

Thanks!
Jason
