Crisis averted 8)

BTW read the first page fool! It says a lot of the stuff I already said (like the Unique portion).

You know, I could SWEAR I had something in the rules about unique entries, but as someone else pointed out, the rules make no mention of that. Is it me? or am I missing something in my own rules cause I don't see that anywhere in there.

It's not in the rules, but you made a post on the first page clarifying things. That's where I got the information and since you posted it, I imagine it's a rule (for obvious reasons) ;)

If it's not explicitly stated in the official rulesheet, though, then it's not really a binding rule.

yes, as wierd as it sounds, not everyone is a member of a-m-v.org and checks the forums. If its not on the rule sheet, it can't be held against people, especially this late in the process.

I don't run the contest and am just pointing out what he wrote *shrug*. And it's not like you didn't know this a month ago fool. It also doesn't affect your video fool...

But at the same time, it's *their* contest and they're free to run it as they please. I support this rule since I was there last year and there just way too many videos imo.

And also, it has been said in these forums, ACen's forums, the yahoo group, etc. Perhaps he even updated the rules on their site (which are the most important).

Either way, it's their call and I imagine he'll reply soon enough.

Well, of course not, fool. However, as mckeed pointed out, there are people who don't read this forum, fool, and go only by what the official rules state, fool.

ACen is of course free to run the AMV contest as they please, but deleting videos that were otherwise in compliance with the published rules is, well, foolish.

Of course, I imagine that Julius will just upload a new revision of the rules, make an announcement here, the ACen mailing list, ACen boards, etc., and then he's pretty much covered himself, fool.

yeah, well as much as I'd like to implement that, I cna't sicne I didn't post it int he offical rules, can't understand how something like that would have passed through the cracks. probably because I was taking care of bigger more important issues, it doesn't matter though, it just means that if the contest runs too long we'll have to make more cuts than I was hoping to do, butcest lavie. rest assured though, next year we'll be putting that into the official rules.

And I stated that he posted nearly everywhere else...fool.

Regardless, I already more or less stated that I see your points, but was asking why you cared since you wouldn't be affected....

fool...

Just make sure you add it next year *shrug*. It's not as big of a deal since we don't have prejudging heh. That was the major reason for the pain of 100+ videos :-P.

I do however still suggest you have an anti-troll rule or whatever. This is obviously just my opinion, but at the same time, I believe ACen has always had such a rule. I'd be more upset to see that go than a "unique" rule to be honest. But again, I'm pretty sure you already explicitely said this in the rules and it's been a rule for YEARS.

Is a video that is listed here but not downloadable and listed to be premiered on May15 2004 allowable?

Just curious cause this place has been giving me trouble and when I first put up the info It somehow put the days date instead of the con date. I think It may finally be fixed now though.
