DVD drives and Regions

I'm just curious. If I were to put a Region 2 dvd into my dvd drive (given what ever region setting it is on) can smartripper still extract the vobs?

yep, ive done it before and its exactly the same as riping a dvd from your usual region, and if ever ya have any region related problems, go get a region free tool from [url]doom9.org[/url]

You can even strip off the region information and burn them to a DVD-R if you wanna watch it on your normal DVD player :)

actualy its posible to remove region lock manualy of most dvd players, though doing it is different depending on your player

Not for my Sony DVD+/-RW :(...no one's figured it out yet ;_;

Yeah I went there earlier and apparently my Sony DRU-500A isn't supported in RCP1 or whatever. Hopefully someone can figure it out.

I knew I should've gotten that Pioneer instead :-/

My drive isn't supported either. :( At least AnyDVD allows me to play different region discs.

i dont even have a dvd player. all i got is a 16x dvd drive and a shity 15inch fishbowl monitor
