Believe it or not TMPGEnc does not, in fact, suck. Have you read my guides? See link in sig.

Wrong forum, shoot this one to video software help....

Also what's wrong with tmpegenc? If you can't figure it out, then use ErMaC's guide! I don't think he wasted his time writing the guide so people would ignore it!

Once I had enough of crappy CBR mpegs that guide was quite helpful. (thx to ErMaC for writing it)
I have sinned. I made a video I wanted to make that was music + anime + sync + action + effects/transitions. Oh lordy.

TMPGEnc is very good, as there are lots of options to change quality and stuff and you can get your files a lot smaller! (and ermac uses it so it cant be bad!)

Then use the VCD setting.... When you start TMPGEnc up, instead of using the wizard, click on the "Load" button...then go into the "Templates" folder and use the VCD template.

If I May...

Postby Tycho2k » Fri Aug 30, 2002 11:09 pm

I'll chip in my 2 yen (I wish, I'm not even close to Japanese), if TMPGEnc isn't to your liking, although I have found it quite useful when coupled with ErMaCs' guide, I find VirtualDub quite nice. Although it doesn't have the same nice Wizard at TMPGEnc, it is pretty easy to figure out how to use and pretty powerful in my opinion. Plus it's free, always a plus. You can get it at http://www.virtualdub.com

Theorietically VirtualDub can encode MPEGs when you use it with DVMPEG  Of course your files will look like huge stinking piles of dog excrement since DVMPEG sucks big fat donkey genetalia through a straw.
