Need ideas for a name for a TV show that shows anime.

I may (if I can get permission from Pioneer) be showing Trigun and Serial Experiments Lain on my campus' student-run TV station. Now, since the shows only run about 25 minutes (since there are no commercials on the DVDs), I am thinking that it would be a good idea to come up with some sort of deal to fill the gap. I will need to come up with a format for the program (probably something like Twilight Zone or Alfred Hitchcock Presents, where the host appears before and after the program to introduce it and close it out.). What the programming director told me, and I agree, is that having a host would, in addition to filling the extra time, give it more of a student-run feel, which is what the station's aim is.

I figured I can be working on that while I am going about getting permission, just to keep on the ball, but I have been trying to come up with an idea for a show name, as well as a format, and not coming up with anything.

The host deal shouldn't be too difficult (I think a more serioius host may be better than a goofball-type), but what I really need is a name.

Here's some ideas I've come up with that I don't really like too much, just to get the ball rolling.

1) Oliver Otaku Presents (a take on Alfred Hitchcock Presents, obvously).

2) Anime-tastic! (...No).

3) From the Land of the Rising Sun (too obviously ripped off of Toonami's Rising Sun, IMHO).

That's about it. If anyone else has any ideas, for a title, please post them. Thanks!!

What's the station's name? Maybe you could do some sort of spin off that name. ...I don't about other people, but I'm not too creative.
How about something like:
-"something" anime hour
-anime café
-The screening room
-The black hole
-Feast from the East

Geez, I haven't had such a hard time thinking of things since... my topic for my english essay. Sorry, but that's the best I could do.

if you were REALLY good at editing.....i would edit a sequence with anime characters and dub over the voices.

In reality though , maybe have like a couple of people sitting on a couch and after each episode have them discuss the episode for like 7 minutes or something......as most eps run about 23 min with credits that would give you half hour blocks.

First off I very much doubt they will let you show them, not without forking out some major cash. A con is one thing but tv will be out of the question. Anyways, I couldn't think of any good, non corny names.

I like Anime Cafe and Anime Prime Cut and Play Buton. Keep 'em coming.

MAS, you may very well be right. However, I can at least try, eh?

Well, I'd ask, are you aiming toward catching the attention of non-fans who will then watch the show and get into them *breath* or people who already like anime?

-here's some anime for people who like good shows
-shrine time (anime hour)
- pioneer's of anime

-Ideally, BOTH, although, of course, I want people who have not seen much, if any, anime to watch them and go "Damn. Where can I find more of this.", or even "...This is the greatest thing I have ever seen. My life is now complete."

Uncharacteristically optimistic of me, ain't it? ^_^

Of course, what I want to do is show subs instead of dubs, so as far as attracting new people to the world of anime goes...

-Actually, it is a coincidence that both are under Pioneer. The completed series that I have on DVD to choose from are Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Serial Experiments Lain, Record of Lodoss War, and the Tenchi Muyo OAV (must...expand... anime... collection!!). The rest are either movies, parts of the series, or short OAVs.

I don't want to show just part of a series, so that cuts Niea_7, Saber Marionette J, Excel Saga, and Hellsing. I also wanted something that would last beyond one or two weeks, so I nixed the shorter OAVs I have, like Angel Sanctuary and Bastard. I also did not want to show something that is on Cartoon Network, because (1) they can go to Cartoon Network for that, and (2) the company may not allow it since it is contracted to Cartoon Network anyway. Which left me with Trigun, Eva, Lain, and Lodoss War.

Now, I definitely wanted to show Lain, because I love the series to death and I think it is so radically different from anything else that it just has to be shown. I decided to complement it with a different series to give the viewers some variety, and because Lain is not for everyone by any stretch. I chose Trigun out of the other three because it offers a good balance and repreive to the psychological intensity of Lain.

The fact that both are under Pioneer's wings is utter coincidence.

And... this is a very long reply. ^_^
