It starts off similar but not the same (in fact the second chapter is the flashback to when Integra first meets Alucard), then gets quite different after the Valentines Bros. attack.

Incognito does not exist in the manga. In fact, there's cooler guys from Millenium that Alucard fights. There's even a guy that uses playing cards as weapons that Alucard fights in Brazil.

Also, Alucard gets to be a "fly boy":

My brother is 13 and watch Hellsing without any problems.
I see no problems with order 9:Red Rose Vertigo, I just don't like some scenes.

well 13 is a pretty good age for anyone to sat watching those kinds of things and sort of understand without wincing or screaming, thought there r some expections.
