ah, many thanks to you Flint....your choices are great as well=)

Yes, 311 before Led Zeppelin! These are my favorite bands, not a rank of how great they are. On that list, Led Zeppelin would be before 311, and The Beatles would be before Led Zeppelin. I like 311 better because the songs just appeal to me more.

Nine Inch Nails' "Just like you imagined" is just the best song ever, Temjin.

Otherwise, except NIN, best bands are Stabbing Westward and Oomph!.

Ooops sorry Temjin, there's a misunderstood here ^_^. Didn't see you placed NIN in the top of your list.

By the way does anyone know about Katatonia? Every single person I know have never heard anything about it. There's not even one AMV using one of their song. But they ARE good...

*start to think he should have kept this band for himself*

Top 5 in no order:
- David Byrne
- Automator collabs (w/ Beasties, Del, Prince Paul, etc)
- Spiritualized
- Seatbelts / Yoko Kanno
- Peter Gabriel

Bottom 5 in no order:
- Therapy Sisters
- Train
- Le Tigre/Bikini Kill
- Hootie & the Blowfish
- Ace of Base

Here's some rotten fruit for you to throw. :P

Oh yeah I forgot David Byrne :D ! Even if you don't like his music, he's great to watch! Some of his performances were hilarious.

And yeah I've heard of Katatonia. And yeah they're pretty good. So you can't possibly keep them to yourself, especially considering that I had already heard of them and liked them :) .

Katatonia is excellent, sure, but what anime could possibly be used with something like "Deadhouse"? Some bands just defy video.

oh yeah:

5 rock:
1.Death
2.Borknagar
3.Agalloch
4.Slayer
5.Iced Earth

plus ofcourse many others; picking 5 good bands as best is a skullbeater.

5 suck:
1.nearly all radio rock
2.nearly all rap
3.all premanufactured bubblepop
4.all (wussy, shoegazing, angsty, pointless) indie rock
5.Hammerfall

the number of things that suck in this world is a big one. And how many flames will I get for that suckslist, I wonder??

Katatonia's album "Tonight's decision" can work fine with AMV. I would do a Katatonia AMV if I wasn't planning to use Jin-Roh as footage...

La la la, my taste in music sucks and I love it. ^_~ These are opinions and in no way defensible.

10. Fleetwood Mac
9. Everclear (by no means the greatest rock band ever, but I like story songs and sappy melodrama...which they do)
8. Morcheeba
7. Ben Folds / Ben Folds Five (see note on Morrissey / The Smiths and apply same logic)
6. Barenaked Ladies (they do a wide range of things well, always a good trait)
5. REM (appreciating this band more and more with time)
4. Erasure (Candyfloss Eurotrash pop music that never fails to make me happy. I cannot defend my love of this music, but I do love it. That's Erasure in my signature presently. Whee.)
3. Depeche Mode (Erasure's evil twin! 8) No, really.)
2. U2 (not thrilled about some of the places they've sold their music to recently, but I do like a great lot of their very large catalog, and that counts for more...)
1. Morrissey / The Smiths (different, yet similar enough to lump 'em... Morrissey's solo work has the edge if I'm forced to choose)

So.

Least favorite bands... Eh, I don't know. I don't like what they term "Nu Metal" in general (SOAD, Drowning Pool etc. etc.) I don't like Creed, because they seem too self-important, and their "spirituality" strikes me as having all the subtlety and inspiration of a sledgehammer to the forehead.

I don't know if I can list five offhand. *shrugs*

3. Britany Spears
2. N'SYNC
1. Destiny's Child (that Say My Name song never fails to PISS ME OFF!!!!!)
