Cheap Hosting?

Postby LightningCountX » Tue Jan 20, 2004 1:56 pm

Well, me and my friends canceled our webhost cause the dumb bastard lied to us about the terms, so we are out of hosting. We have been searching around but cant find a good host =\. Does anyone know of a good host that is reasonably priced for unlimited storage and bandwidth? Thanks :D

Hey,

I'm sorry to say it, but this does not exist. If it did, the Org would be there abusing the heck out of the deal. I'm not sure what you are trying to do with your site, but you can host your vids here at the site and use some other cheaper hosting for your regular site.

I still suggest looking a couple of topics down to my topic... You can get 3GB of space with 25GB bandwidth for $5/month from Fuitadnet.com... $10/month gives 5GB storage, and 40GB bandwidth... If that's not cheap enough, I don't know what else can be done for ya =\
You seemed to be someone concerned about bandwidth... Fuitadnet have higher level deals, too, and if you accidentally go over the bandwidth limit, it's only $1.50 per extra GB. Just as long as you're not worried by the fact that the whole thing is run by about 4 guys working from home :D

okay i didnt wanna tell anyone this cause this is my MEGAMANGACLIPS place anyway, its not free it will cost like $13 a month but you get 5gigs of webspace and 50gigs of bandwidth, if you talk to the person on aim and ask for like more bandwidth or something it only raise to like $17 its awesome. www.cirtexhosting.com anyway its really good place, hope you like it...There was a better place but before i went and bought there they shut down :(...

Be sure to read the T&C (Terms & Conditions) before you commit. I know at least one of those (can't remember the name) forbids file libraries; e.g. collections of AMVs, etc.

Some providers are more strict about content rules, too. But there's no way to know ahead of time about that - unless you know someone already using that service.

Lightning: You sound interested in Infinology (you said 10GB storage and 50GB transfer... I'm guessing you meant Infinology). I used to use them for AMVs, and they aren't very strict about what you host there, don't worry. I'm thinking about moving back, so I'll ask them about file libraries while I'm questioning them =P
Just be warned that the setup fee is HUGE even though it's a shared hosting >_< They also do not have 1 on 1 customer service... which normally isn't a drawback, but they claim that is why they're prices are so low.

I'd check Fuitadnet again... the main page has this little image...

That's at http://fuitadnet.com//_common/images/accept.gif
I'm pretty sure that says "Checks & Money Orders" at the bottom.
