Anime cons in Cali?

Postby Ryam » Tue Dec 30, 2003 11:14 pm

Ive never been to an anime con and was wondering, are there any of them in California? If so can anyone possibly tell me where they are,((city or what not)) and when?

((OK I know there are some in California, that was a dumb @$$ question just when and where))

someone's gonna kill me for making 3 posts in 5 mins ... theres Anime LA in Van Nuys on the 30th of Jan .. i might go to that just to see whats there, i never been to a convention before, so im lookin into checking one out before i go to Anime Expo .. or in this case Pacific Media Expo and then Anime Expo. If anyone wants to go and lives in the Area of San Diego and LA, Drop me a line.

Another con that could be considered a practice run for Anime Expo is Pacific Media Expo. It's on Memorial Day Weekend and is in the same location as Anime Expo.

there's also Paracon, which is at Great America. Last year's was mid-october. It's a small convention, and of course run by Paramont which probably doesn't know anything about anime. They had maybe five dealers last year, none of whom actually sold anime or manga, two viewing rooms, one of which was the gigantic imax screen, and a cosplay competions, along with karaoke and the other stuff you usually find at Great America. Like overpriced soda.
