Adobe Premiere 6.0 WalkThru

Postby skanks » Fri Aug 23, 2002 8:39 am

Hey, just got this app and wondering if there are walk thru's for complete nubes.
I tried messing around with it but it keeps crashing and its kinda frustraiting. I've never played with these things before but are quite keen to learn, only without anything to learn from i'm pissing against the wind.

(was hoping to use fansubs, but have DVD's if its easier to start with)

Okay

Basically Premiere doesn't work properly with DivX....

It will crash and act funny. You need to convert the DivX video to some other format like HuffYUV, MJPEG or leave it uncompressed..

<a href="http://www.virtualdub.com">VirtualDub</a> can do this.

About the piracy, yes it's kinda strange, but we try to be *as* legal as possible. As this falls more along the lines of fan art, we aren't actively trying to rip off the artists, the idea is to distribute two things that we love together... We aren't trying to distro a entire CD or DVD rips of anime, nor are we trying to allow everyone to download a free copy of Premiere.

How you get Premiere is your own business. I don't care. Premiere comes with a large manual and help documents(even many warez versions come with the help documents, hit F1). Alot of information can be covered in the manual/help docs. Alot of people just download something on a whim for free, it doesn't do what they want it to do within 10minutes they don't want to read the help file or manual or don't have one and they expect us to help them out.. Which is annoying.. ;)

BTW there is a Premiere trial version on the adobe.com website ;)

With Anime I buy everything I find..
I don't find much, i'm still looking for places to buy, I went all around Australia recently, i finally found a place that sells them but they turned out to be bootleg. Companies such as Anime International which I didn't know about, figured they were imports considering it was as asian market.. only they were shite and i only found it out when i got home on the otherside of the country.. Cowboy beebop is only a rumour to be released here still which is how hard it is to find these things. As for things like Adobe a found my friends actually own a copy and i will buy a book. And i do intent to buy it if it works, (maybe i edit the file name to have trial written in it) Still alot to learn about all this, but i have a bit of time considering i only work part time..

nehe, spamming my own post

Postby skanks » Fri Aug 23, 2002 9:30 am

Start again. (please forget above posts  )
I have a Perfectly legit version of Premier and i seemed to have 'misplaced' my book and was wondering if anyone knows a place online which has specified walk thru's when it comes to AMV's and divx's. Chances are i might refind my book depending on a friend, but wasn't to sure it would even hold the right info for AMV creating purposes.

LOL yes that's very funny...

you know the "misplaced book" is going to get you the response of "find the fucking book or call adobe and get a new one" , it's a very large book a couple hundred pages, you could kill someone with with probably...

I made a guide that I never finished. I'll upload it onto my webpage space later and post the link for you to have a look at. I don't know if it'll help you much tho... but..

??? It was launched back in July... (I launched it back in July :D )

In regard to getting started with AMV making, you may want to look at the many guides...

<a href="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/legacy/guide.htm">a-m-v.org Guides</a>
<a href="http://www.evilnet.net/~turboneko/amvfaq/amvfaq.html">Turboneko and Hitori's FAQ</a>
<a href="http://www.evilnet.net/~turboneko/audio/index.html">AbsoluteDestiny's Audio Guide</a>

Why I'm being pleasent is beyond my own understanding...
(maybe by entering the most current thread without knowing anything about what it's contents will be is the way to go... now I've gone off the topic again...)

*channles Quu's Auroa*

It is perfectly legal to create AMv's, assuming you own the source and music.....what it is not legal to do is distribute it. The actual creation is covered under the fair use act. You can even show your friends it....just not mass distrubte it.

The actual creation is covered under the fair use act.

This actually falls under another part of copyright law. You can do whatever you want with copyrighted material as far as your personal use is concerned. Fair use only comes into play when you actually want to distribute something.

Fair use allows you to create a parody based on someone elses work and sell it without paying royalties to the original owner. It also allows you to make references to other copyrighted works. You could try to argue that AMVs fall under Fair Use, but I highly doubt it would stand up in court.

Read it, and maybe we can end these silly copyright discussions...

ACI vs AIC

Postby TaranT » Sat Aug 24, 2002 2:58 am

Another correction of a common mistake that happens too often: confusing the names of two different companies...I even saw this error once on the front page of animeondvd.com.

Anime Cartoon International is the outfit distributing the bootleg anime.

Anime International Co. (AIC) is a legitimate Japanese company that is responsible for over a hundred (200?) anime titles. In their early days they created titles like the Tenchi OAV series and the first Sol Bianca. Also, Ah My Goddess and a series of Pioneer OAVs: Armitage III, Battle Athletess, BGC, El Hazard, Moldiver, etc.

Their English Web site is here:
