Anime USA Deadline Reminder

This forum is for the announcement and discussion of anime music video contests.

Will the FTP info ever be posted on the AnimeUSA site? Image Or would I have to e-mail musicvideos@animeusa.org to get the info? If need be, I could submit via mail.

Would a sexual favor work, or does Buca have that market cornered?

Yes, you'll have to email that address to get the FTP login information. I have everyone email me first so that I can better keep track of videos being submitted and can hunt down people who forget to include their entry form.

I sent an email, received the information, and have been trying for two and a half days to upload my video, and all I'm getting is a timeout message. Did I get bad information, or is it a problem on my end, which I doubt, since it's failed on both my home machine and my work machine.

Hmm... hopefully there will be enough time left to get that straightened out...

if you're having trouble connecting to the server, email me again since the IP changed a couple days ago. If you're getting time-out errors, try breaking up your file into smaller chunks using RAR and upload those.

MPEG2 is usually almost that massive; I work about 8Mbps and can expect 1 MB per second of final video. That's just because of my editing setup; Beo's probably exporting at 12Mbps with those kinds of numbers, most likely to preserve stuff that wasn't in the original footage (DVDs average about 5Mbps).

Hopefully your video is really good and you didn't induce too many artifacts on export...VCD-quality MPEG1 doesn't always translate to big screens the best......^^;;

Actually my TMPEG produces massive audio fuckups so I'm doing it in XVid.

720x480 quantizer 1 with a wav file is 380 megs. It looks as good as possible, so while I lose quality, its ok :P

And just a reminder folks, the deadline is TODAY! Hire a bike messenger if necessary, but you have all of 23.5 hours to get that video to Edison, NJ.
