Adaptec suxx0r.

Nero's better in every aspect except simplicity, but it's still not too complicated.

well the reason i like direct cd is that it has a feature that allows me to use a cd as if it were a floppy disk.

That's not as useful a feature as one would think, in my experience.

I have adaptec, and I agree w/ Jbone, it sux. :( I dont even bother w/ the whole using a disc like a floppy disk thing. I just burn what I want to preserve onto disk and leave it at that. I used to have a copy of nero, but someone "acquired" it from my software folder. :(

Maybe a firmware update would help, possibly upgrading the drivers?

Does any other cd-r software work?

BTW Nero now comes with a DirectCD-type program as well. Performs better than DirectCD, too, from what I've seen.

And all these programs will become meaningless once Mt. Reineer (sp?) drive and discs become commonplace.

Mt. Reineer? Care to explain what this is for those who don't know what this is?

Sounds like it replaces the floppy and can be written to directly without use of extra software.
