Huffyuv Problems

Post by Eiji » Tue Aug 20, 2002 1:07 pm

I have ripped my DVD footage with no problems, then I goto encode with FlaskMpg and I want to use the huffyuv codec cause everyone says that it is one of the better ones to use. I encode it, with no problems, and then when I goto check it out in Windows Media Player it doesnt show any picture.

I try and load it into Premiere, and Premiere crashes. Could someone possibly tell me why the codec doesnt work, or of a codec that is just as good as huffyuv.

Thanks.

I wouldn't be using FlaskMPEG to convert your vob files.

I would use ErMaC's method in his guides off the main page.

If those options are too slow for you, I would follow them up to making the AVS script file. Once you have the script, import it into VirtualDub and export a HuffYUV file from there.

HuffYUV is huge at about 1GB a minute and I can't see anyone fitting a whole series worth of DVDs onto your hard drive.

Also you should make sure you have the latest version of avisynth.

I should clarify, when you export from VirtualDub, export only the clips you need, not the entire episodes.
