Yeah, taunt me why don't you. I don't think I could finish anything that fast - but best of luck to everyone. 8)

Oh good. I forgot to upload/submit Counting for Lunatics. I hope the extension doesn't mean the contest is severly hurting for entries... I just hope it means it could use a few more.

If you wish to make a digital submission, please contact the AMV coordinator for further details.

Who is this, and is there an email address to send questions to? I don't have the capabilities to do vhs, dvd, or vcd. A cd would work, but it looks like online submission would be better. But who do I address questions to?

[And if this is a stupid question, ignore me. I promise I won't ask again.]

The Wired Knight. You should've read further down the rules page...

And anyway, why was the deadline extended?

I hurried myself to get it done today, and then I look at the FTP and BAM... I could've procrastinated more... -shakes fist-

I actually had a part in getting Sean (The Wired Knight) to extend the deadline. Mainly because I knew a lot of people were working on yaoi videos and wanted to make sure that there were as many entries as the con can possibly get.

As for what format to submit in, on the Yvids forum, Larissa asked him and he said that AVI was the best to submit in and to get even more in depth, he recommended HuffyUV. Although I'm sure he'll accept stuff in XviD, DivX or MPEG-1/MPEG-2.

... Drat. Now I just wasted a good 2 hours encoding to mpeg2 thinking that was the best bet. =\

Ah well...

Thanks for the answers, Fungie.

No problem, and if you went ahead and encoded into MPEG-2, you might wanna go ahead and submit that anyways. Imagine how long uploading a Huffyuv AVI would take  But yeah, whatever works, and again, no problem ^^

Well to answer your question, I did extend the deadline in order to hopefully bring in more entires. While there is a fair amount as it stands, we could stand to use a few more for Yaoi-con. I got some reports from a few people that they could finish a video in about a week that they are working on in order to meet the deadline so I figured by adding two weeks we could increase the entires by a fair amount.

Also, I was made aware that the original deadline of August 31st is a Sunday and Laborday is the day that follows it -_- My bad...

And in case anyone else is wondering or hasn't figured it out yet, I am the contest coordinator for Yaoicon, so you contact me if you have anything you need resolved. I'm not to frequent on the boards so it's best to get in touch with me over e-mail, I check it three times a day so I should get back to anyone relatively quickly.

Oops, missed a post....ok, the reason for Huffy being preferable, is because once all the digital files are recieved in whatever way they are, I'm putting them all onto one media format using Adobe Premiere, and we all know what codecs AP does and doesn't like. So feel free to use whatever codec you want as long as it is AP compatable and NOT real player, it's the one format that I cannot convert.

Thanks for the info. The official title was different on the 'Staff' page, but I should have known it meant 'AMV coordinator.' Sorry for the post.

Yeah.. I am now favoring that extension(if only for the upload time!)

It's just that mpeg looks like crap on a stick festering in the sun when you put in Premiere... So I was uploading my huffy... Bu tthat's 2.5 gigs. Been 3 days, now...

Gave up. Trying the mpeg2.

*bumps* and although my vid may well be DQ'd and/or booed for a couple of reasons, I think it will be done in the next two or three days. I hope, I hope. 8) Can't hurt to try, right?

Sending in for more info by email.

Thanks!

Must... get.. "EA"... Done.... -works harder!-

Yeah, Sarah, your vid won't be the only one who may slightly bend the rules and fringe on being DQ'ed.
