Anybody make their own music?

Postby RCTFORME » Tue Sep 02, 2003 8:21 am

I do ^_)^ I found this great program called "Ejay" (The one I have is the "Special Editon" version) and it lets you take pre-made samples (or make your own) and mix them together on a timeline :D I've made 5 really great (well, imo anyway) songs ^_)^

You can check one of them out now if you want :D

Summer Jam
@ http://www.solarbeam.org/RCTFORME-SummerJam.MP3 (Opens in new window :p may need to save)

It's a cool hit :) sort of Jazz, sort of hip-hop :D Hey, if you can, I'd like an opinion ^^ who knows, maybe you'll want to use it in a future video :D

Anywho, aside from my own, anybody else make their own music? ^_)^

Quite the funky track there RCTFORME. If it were mixed a little better it reminds me of a B-side from Joe Satriani's album "Engines of Cration". The beats a bit simplistic, but I'm still feeling it. Did you play all the parts, or were some of them presampled?

I make music under the name Nonagon. All my stuff is about half electronic. I impliment a lot of organic sampling and acoustics, lots of tape manipulation on the last track of my EP "Proclamation Without Pretention" which is scheduled for release in October (hopefully it will be >_<). I use a lot of VSTi's and I sequence using the program Renoise and do final mixing in the program Wavelab.

I have a couple tracks up on http://www.zebox.com/nonagon One is a Metroid remake submitted to Overclocked Remixes (http://remix.overclocked.org) and the other is "Walk for Clouds" from my EP (but it's unmastered on the site).

Anyway, enjoy.

Well...I really don't do anything electronicly. I usually composs my own music on guitar and record it using my mic. I've been wanting to use one of my songs (nothing but accoustic guitar) for one of my videos, but my recording gear isn't good enough right now.

Pretty soon though I'm going to buy a drum machine and add drums to my guitar tracks.

I just plug my guitar into the computer and go.

I still suck, but hey - at least it's fun!

I just play some notes on my acoustic guitar and see if they sound good. I don't make it very far and it's extremely simple, however. Oh well.

Click the sig. Mostly made with FruityLoops, cause I'm not intelligent enough to use Acid.
Recently picked up a 4-track, expecting to have some fun with my bass and a shitty toy keyboard I picked up off a friend.
If nothing else, harsh noises get your attention.

Well most of them were pre-made, but I was able to mix the music and some of the drums on a program that let me take music notes and mix them together with different instrument sounds and save them :) so I mixed those with the song on ejay and it came together with that. I've mdae a total of 5 songs using the program, 2 of which resemble eachother greatly cause I used some of the same samples, but the rest are fairly unique :p I wanted to put them on my site but my stupid host doesn't have a lot of space *kicks host*

But thanks for the compliment though ^^
