I Know I will be shot for this...

I'm Going to make an attempt on my 1st Amv, and i'm going to use the technique of downloading the video and then using windows movie maker from there. because my parents are seperated and i'm stuck at my dad's house without my GF4 i acn't use the SVideo component. I was wondering how I take clips from one downloaded movie?

Use virtualdub to convert downloaded files (most likely DivXes) into an editing-friendly (read: Huffyuv) format.

Oh, btw...

BANG!! :P

The idea of "capturing video" is to get video onto your computer from some analog source. If you already have the video files on your computer you don't need to capture it again. Most likely you need to convert it into something WMM can understand. Also WMM is a pain, but I can't really give you any other free alternative. I believe there is Axogon Composer, but that is shareware and until you register it puts a nasty little logo on your vid.

You're thinking of the Main* series; MainActor and MainVision. "Axogon" was folded into MainVision when it went 1.0+. STUDY UP, GENTLEBEING.

v0.93 of Axogon is completely untouched in the way of shareware accompaniments. If you can find it.
