Need help finding certain kinds of songs...

Postby FoolThemAll » Wed Aug 14, 2002 11:47 pm

Well, this might seem wierd, but here goes. I need a song:

-that deals with slowly losing everything, or becoming a bona fide loser, something of that sort. The more ambiguous, the better. A song that expresses extreme embarassment, mortification.

-about obvious differences or divisions between parts of a city

-that's about being tossed aside, dumped, for superficial reasons, and becoming unknown. Shouldn't be an angry song (i.e. Morrisette's "You Oughta Know").

-about being too old-fashioned, too uncultured

-about (this one might be difficult) the joy of politics in its most raw, unethical form

-about being noticed/recognized all of a sudden

-about giving up everything, including troubles, on a philosophical/religious whim

-about going from very meek and eager to please, to greatly confident and not hesitant to give out orders

-about being helped out a great deal, to one's amazement

Hey, this might be fun! Or not. Let's find out.

For the unethical political one, try "White Discussion" by Live. It's been a while since I've heard the song, but if I remember the gist of it that's what it's about.
Kusoyaro: We don't need a leader. We need to SHUT UP. Make what you want to make, don't make you what you don't want to make. If neither of those applies to you, then you need to SHUT UP MORE.

Got the lyrics in my hand. Maybe I'm misinterpreting the song, but I'm looking for something that portrays the unethical side of politics in a positive light, or at least an understanding light. That's why I thought it a difficult one to find.

Thanks for the suggestion, nevertheless. And it's a great song.

"The Wall" by Kansas (not to be confused with "The Wall" by Pink Floyd) might work for this.

The rest of them I would have to think about a little bit.

I've gotten in the habit of making themed mixes, based on a movie, book, or recently, a video game (GTA3). This latest one that I'm having some trouble compiling is based on the book A Man In Full. Great read, btw.

Thanks for your suggestion, Mask.
