Video no audio

Postby Madzack » Mon Aug 11, 2003 11:07 am

I've just ripped an anime from a DVD. Unfortunately, there's no audio. Still, is it ok for the soundless anime to put be into Adobe Premier in order to make an AMV?

This is actually the preferable way for creators to work with. Unless you want to use a part of the DVD audio in your AMV, you're good to go with what you have right now. :) I think that without the footage audio, it provides less distraction as you edit with the music..

If you happen to need the DVD audio, you should read this guide to learn how to get it.

I always rip mine from DVD without sound, and on the occasion I forget to, I end up taking the sound out later. If all you are using the footage for is AMV's, and you dont plan on using the actual sound effects of the movie, then there's no real problem here, since you weren't going to use it anyway.

Thanks, guys.

I guess there's no need for DVD audio after all for my projects, unless I felt I have a need for it....

And overall you saved some HD space, as all that audio was going to take up valuable real estate anywho.
