vegas video ??

vegas video ??

ok for some reason im not able to see my clip in the timeline. i can hear the audio for it but not video. it happend right after i put a mask on one of my video tracks. any suggestions to get it to view again?? thanks in advance.

What steps did you take to set up the mask? Did you connect the tracks with the compositing button ?

If the tracks are connected, a clip on the lower (child) track won't appear until you put some kind of mask above it on the parent track.

The Help menus have more information. From the Help Index, select Compositing Video - Compositing and Masks.

This book isn't out yet, but should be soon. You might want to look for it, manuals for Vegas being hard to come by: Vegas 4 Editing Workshop (due July 2003)

all i did was hit the compositon track but i got it to work normal again. all i did was choose a new composistion which turned out nicely. but i dont know how to work with parent and child composistions yet. may come in handy on one of my later amvs.

I have had that same problem. What you need to to is reinstall Vegas and restart the program. It has worked everytime for me.
