OK, I'm still trying to figure out exactly where you decided to use the 8D for that line, trythil. Besides, if you want to talk volume of air suckage on Pratt engines, look at the 112" PW4000....

It was the first engine that came to mind :P

So it looks like after getting badges on Thursday is when we'll all meet (reading over some of the replies)? I am currently looking at flights and need to know ASAP. Also when do they start letting you pick-up badges? It looks like I can be in around ~8:30...hopefully you guys wil either be in line or the line will be short and we can all meet.

Badge pickup starts at 7PM. I plan to be there as early as possible and hopefully the line won't be bad. Probably will be though, and I'll be starving, so I'll probably snag a bite on the way there, unless anyone knows of a USB microwave...

/me wonders if Ashyukun can pick up my badge without hassle? I picked-up my friends badges at ACen...hmmm....

Reason being...I can't get in earlier than ~8:30 based on the flights and the fact I will need to come into work in the morning?

Thoughts Bob?

You're gonna be SOL. According to staff on the Otakon BBS (http://www.otakon.com/board), a photo ID is necessary and it must have the name of the person on the ID that is on the files for prereg. If you're getting in as late as you are (assume 30 min. to get your luggage and another 20 get a ride to drop things off at the hotel), you're going to be showing up just in time to be told to come back in the morning. Better to come to the gathering and then get up way early Friday to claim.

You're telling me they have the pre-registered badging open for like an hour and a half? That's it? That's really retarded. IIRC ACen had their's open till at least 11 P.M. (started at around 7 - 8). Given, this isn't ACen, but still seems a bit odd to be open for such a short period of time.

Oh well.

I'm up for any meeting. I believe my Press badge allows me to take a pre-convention tour on Thursday night, but I'd sacrifice that for any AMV gatherings.

And a post-Badge pickup meeting on Thursday is probably the best solution for those of us who want to party early. We just need to find a place that's open that late...

No, it's open from 7-10, but again, look at the above math: arrive at 8:30PM, add 60 min. for normal delays, and you get the idea. A friend on reg staff says that it's doubtful they'll close on time, it'll depend on how much of load-in isn't finished.

Anyone interested on forming an animemusicvideos.org posse to go watch the contest showing on Saturday? It'd be pretty easy to meet outside the room.

Count me in, but expect me a little groggy ^^;;; You can spot me *really* easily. I'll be Miki from Utena in PJ's so just look for a short 14 year old with blue hair in PJ's and you found me!

How cute! :D

And as for the last topic of conversation, this is the key:
because YOU KNOW IT'S THE BEST YOU CAN DO

That's the problem, you see. You can't understand because your videos make people cream their pants. But when all you make is shit, and all you CAN make is shit, the whole situation is very different indeed.

And if I wanted attention I'd be jumping in here acting like I'm one of the bigwigs, like some people. "Oh yeah, sure, count me in! As if anybody knew or cared who I was! Heh heh yeah! I'm one of you guys now!!" I hate that kind of twerpy kid who hangs around where they don't belong.

I only contest the ridiculous denial that there IS a difference between the famous and the obscure. That is all.

And if by "Sarah" you meant me (I know there are other Sarahs around, I don't mean to be arrogant), I most certainly will not be begging you people for autographs. You'll have to get your egos stroked by each other, thanks.

Great, so you've got no problem with attending a gathering of amv creators then. Cause this is what this thread is about, not a gathering of more well known amv creators that make people cream their pants.

Besides, if you want a thread for big name creators to stroke their egos, I suggest:

Pre-reg pickup is between 7pm-10pm (eastern time zone remember).

I'm gophering, and will be doing the orientation thing come 7, 7:30. I am hoping it will not take long, but I am required to be there for it.

Would it be possible for everyone to settle on a time now?
I am hoping I will be done by 9pm. is 9pm a good time for everyone?
10 maybe? We need to make a decission. I NEED TO KNOW!
But I take it that meeting at the BCC at the corner of Pratt and Charles (see map in post: http://www.animemusicvideos.org/phpBB/viewtopic.php?p=294321#294321)

As far as pre-registration pickup goes (Vic this is for you), There are currently like 6,000 people pre-registerd, and al of them know about thursday pickup. Just a warning. Hell, Thursday pickup might be longer then Friday or Saturday. But lucky me, my gopher badge will get me in, so I can go get my badge and stuff when things get slow.

DWchang:
Only you can pickup your badge. The staff is being very strict about this. The only way to pickup someone elses badge is if they are a minor and you are the parrent or quardian. They WILL ask for Picture ID, so have it ready.

MistyCaldwell:
I'm there girl! GREAT IDEA!!! Maybe the thursday when we all meet we can work out when and where to meet or something. Unless anyone has a better idea (if I knew the schedual I could give a tentative time for meeting).

SarahtheBoring:
There ya go, that's me, obscure. Sure I want to be known, but let it take it's due time. I still have a LOT to learn. Pluss I need to get over this little patience problem of mine. I am capable of SO much more then I have done. Even in my latest Hard Knock Anime video, there were things I could have taken more time on, and done so much better. But I said screw it so I could finish earlier and get to watch it.
After meetin some other creators at the little dinner we had last year at Otakon, I realised that absolutly ANYTHING I could think of in my mind, could be done in an AMV. The problem is learning how to do it, and takeing the time to do it. Up untill I started reading this After Effects Book of mine, Learning was not a problem, but taking the time to actually do it was. I know this is going to sound cliche(sp?) (isn't saying "cliche", chliche in and of itself now a days?) but I have A.D.D. (I've been diagnosed by a medical professional, and took meds for almost 4 years) but stopped the meds after I graduated highschool. So for me, it can be very difficult working on a big video project for an extended period. What would take someone one month (if that) to do, will take me about 3 becaus eI have to get in a sertain mood and mind set before I can sit down for 6-10 hours and work on somehting. I can't just do a little bit at a time like for 15 minutes to a half an hour, it would drive me nuts since you really can't get anything done in that short a time.

P.S. Sarah, please come. You would be very welcome. And if anyone gives you a hard time I'll kick their ass (or try to.........Vlad is a BIG guy ya know, though he is a gental giant). On second thought I'll just make a video making fun of the the creator.

Fine fine fine. Amend my statement to be "gathering of exclusively well known amv creators that make people cream their pants."
