Preface: I am not an Otakon staffer.

The scheduled AMV showings are, IIRC, 1PM on Friday and Saturday, and midnight (or after MAT3K, whichever is later) on Friday night. The AMV panel will be 3 hrs long and scheduled for a non-conflicting time (traditionally 10AM Saturday).

According to the Otakon boards, the schedule will go up within two weeks of the con. Before Otakon 2002, it was available only to press and posted 3-4 days in advance. Otakon 2002's schedule went live online about a week before the con to the public. According to Matt, it'll be also about 2 weeks before the con when he gets the list of finalists out. While he may have all the ballots, the man has earned himself a break and some time away from watching the submissions.

And I talked to you, hackerzc, I talked to everyone! I just talked to teknoboy a lot because we communicate regularly online...LJ is a wonderful thing.

Oh, and no cosplay here. It happened once and was a bad idea. I will have the camera of a thousand functions with me, though, and promise not to harrass the cosplayers or insult the singers at karaoke. I *do* want something worth showing the folks at Mega Manga Con, though...

3 hours??? What's all going to happen at the panel to fill all that time?

The smartass answer is "I guess you'll have to come and see for yourself."

The real answer is that usually there's a 2ish hour block of the panelists (seven of 'em! seven!) talking, fielding questions, showing a few videos, etc. Then there's a bit of time for a semi-official gathering (cd swapping, one on one Q&A, etc.), then at the 2:45 or 2:50 point the head of programming will rear his head to tell everyone to get out so they can start setting up the next event in the room.

Okay, thanks for the info. :) I didn't mean to complain; I was just curious (again, I've only been to one con) and eager. Especially eager! 8)

Finally exactly one month until Otakon. It is goin' to be great this year. Plus I'll be dressed as Gene Starwind this year. Last year I went with my own anime character I created from one of my own anime stories named Markus. I'll be postin' more information on my site about the anime series I was tryin' to write up. More information will be available in the upcoming week or so. Here's the site www.freewebs.com/genestarwind21122. Now I have to run and upload some videos. Until then "You Better Get Ready!"

As for those who do, good luck, I hope to get some pics of the best cosplayers

Otakon's gonna be my first con, and i'm short. I want to cosplay, but I don't wanna show up and be embarassed by what im wearing. Any cosplay suggestions for a first timer or just whats gonna be a good thing to wear? Okay then.....
I can't wait for Onegai Twins to be subbed, it's gonna be sweet! Mizuho's in it (or at least makes an appearance, not sure which), and I am more obsessed with her than anybody or anything is. My room is adorned with wall scrolls and posters, and I have several different copies of the series and manga! And my computer is filled with about 50 gigabytes or more of Mizuho! There's too much to say here, but I am a Mizuho Kazami (or if you must have it the Japanese way Kazami Mizuho) Otaku!

Well, for those times when you can't figure out what to wear. I sugest going with a personal favorite of mine.......absolutely nothing!

Forget the con rules! You come with me and weel have our own con!
You are at least 16 right? That's concenting age in Maryland.

Ok sorry about that, I could not resist. But seriously, don't be getting me arrested for harrasment or anything. All that being locked up and all will only serve to feed my lust for passion, and that would be a dangerous thing indeed.

On a lighter note......I say where what you want. So your a little short.......I'm a little bit of a lard ass, minus the "little" part. Do what ya want, have fun. Isn't that the point?

sorry about the many typos, and for double posting, and for offending just about every female member on the forum. But I'm in a good mood right now. I really am.

I'd worry about offending the male members of the forum by perpetuating that "hornball pasty otaku fanboy who's never seen a real girl" cliche. ;)

More importantly, 21 DAYS! XD

Horney......yes
Pasty......well, maybe a bit
Fanboy......not really
Never seen a real girl........na, I see um all the time. I just never talk, touch, or the many MANY other things that they are capable of

As for the 21 day warning. Please don't remind me. I am still waiting for my costume to be finished by someone. Plus I have lots of work to do for the LARP (The GM staff have me running ragged and I'm not even on staff).

Um... okay. I don't think I asked about you; I was replying to your weird comment about "offending" girls. But ooookay, man. *edges away quickly*

Can I bring mace? :P (The stingy kind, not the skull-crushy kind.)

[That was a joke. A lame one, but nevertheless.]
