it has this thing where its widescreen but with black borders...I'm guessing you just crop it out but is there a better way to deal with it...and get it to work with the episodes..i dont know may be a problem because its different sizes once croped

The Evangelion movies are widescreen. Evangelion TV is Not. Do not use both in conjunction unless you like defining masks on footage.

Crop 60 pixels from each the top and the bottom (it might be something like 40, some movies are shorter bars than other movies) and then on the final distro encode resize to something like 512x272.

If you use avisynth, just add this:

Crop(20,69,-24,-67) It'll remove the black margines from the tops and size. If you don't want mess with the letterboxed EoE..you could pay almost 400 dollars and import the Renewal, where the movie is anamorphic and clean shaven. :)

Resizing loses a wee bit o' video data, and MPEG-based codecs like to have their dimensions in 16-pixel increments, so I just shave a little extra off the sides and leave a little bit of black at the top and bottom. All the ugly checkerboarding is at the sides anyway.

don't crop it; use it as if it were a 2nd level Canvas and Then define the Camera' view and angle ^^

it looks much better . . plus, you can move it around as if it were still a single-picture on a mat ^_^

OK- I don't have any clue what you just said... The only thing that I know of that uses 'cameras' that we traditionally use (and even it is rather rare) is LightWave...

multi-layer construction area - it is used for assembling new animations usually; I cheeted and made a Video the 2nd layer ^^ and it understood it ^^

I can't quite explain why it works, but a friend of mine at the college said, "give it a try; you'll never know unless you do it and fail at it."

I think that's the part that most of us are having trouble getting to.

The problem is that I at least have no idea what program you're talking about... as it is, it sounds halfway nonsensical without a frame of reference for the program. Thinking about it, After Effects in 3D mode does use cameras, but I'd think that dropping into 3D mode just to handle cropping/zooming a video would be a bit of a waste of processing time...
