Good ways to find clips...

Postby Rini210 » Sun Aug 11, 2002 7:49 pm

I know this has probably been asked before, in fact I know it has, but where's a good place to get clips? Any good websites? Are we forced to use DVD's or pirate off of other peoples AMV's? Or do we have to download episodes and steal off of that? I'm just looking for clips that are nice and clear... and maybe some soundbites too.

Anyways.. anyone have any good place? Thanks for the help you may or may not give!

Use DVDs for the best-quality source footage. Anything else will tend to give you lower visual quality.

most likely anything else is illegal and you shouldn't be asking us for it ;p.....

Good find DivX fansubs of stuff.... there you go....

newsgroups, irc servers, p2p apps. Iam sure they have it. You'll have to crop out those nasty subs or put a overlay on them and forget it if you have anything less then broadband.

BAD QUESTION! BAD QUESTION!

GOLDEN RULES:

You wanta clips, you buya DVDs or a capture card and VHS tapes!

YOU DO NOT PIRATE OTHER PEOPLE'S CLIPS FROM THEIR AMVS!

YOU DO NOT USE DOWNLOADED FOOTAGE UNLESS YOU CANNOT FIND A DVD FOR THE SERIES AND IT IS RAW FOOTAGE AND HIGH QUALITY!

Capiche?

Agreed. The best footage is from DVD, VHS. If you *really* need to go with HQ digisubs....but thats a last resort.... not to mention most of the time Premiere has a problem with Divx files...you'll get colotr distortion and choppy motion...

Don't forget LDs. The quality is much better than VHS. They are a little hard to get though.

I think some new fan sub epis are very high of quality....
I enjoy having em.
Though I'm starting to release now I can do a lot better with some real dvd source so I'm gonne buy the cowboy bebop series on dvd & rework most of my older vids which used HQ fansubs... ;)

Actually for our purposes LDs are not as good as DVDs since they cannot be digitally ripped onto a hard drive.

And the whole LD vs. DVD video quality argument has been done to death, and the verdict has always been "The very best LD will look just as good as the very best DVD to the human eye." There is no discernable difference between a perfectly authored LD and a perfectly authored DVD.
