Ill be their again, maybe this time i can eat something =\
as for a head count from me, i will be coming with something like 6 people, of witch i think 4 will want to go to this dinner, but that is yet top be desided. This is not including Devolution and his crew, witch i will also be with.

BTW, will this be the 2end or 3rd AMV dinner, and will this become an anual thing? would be kinda kool if it did.

I would really like to go, but I guess I am just afraid of not knowing anyone :? Gah, the problems of shyness.

The same thing happened to me at AX last year.. Ushicon was great because everyone got to see me in person.. Finally.. And then Akon!! ^_^

Next is AWA!! I really want to meet everyone! 8)

Maybe.. Just maybe.. I'll have the Akon doc completed by then and ready for distribution.... :?

This will be the second AMV dinner I've organized during AWA. My idea for it was shamelessly stolen from Wired Knight's AX dinner. I don't know if there was anything like this before hand but I get the impression there wasn't anything organized that was just a general invite to AMV creators.

Last's year dinner went so well (especially since I was sure I'd screw it up in the end) that I knew we had to go again this year. The word of mouth alone has increased the dinner crowd so I guess I'll have to keep on doing this for a while :D Luckily I live in Atlanta and I've got such a backlog of AMV projects to do that I'll be around for a few more years just getting those done :P

Maybe I should submit this dinner to be an official part of the AWA VAT schedule...

I did last year's dinner with only knowing a few people from online discussions. Being a bit shy in big crowds myself I wasn't exactly a social butterfly during the dinner (this will change, blast it!) but the dinner did give me a huge advantage for the rest of AWA. I was able to put names to faces and other people were able to do the same thing with me so when I ran into people during the actual con we would at least recognize each other as having been at the dinner and the potential for conversation went up. The dinner is really a great way to meet and greet because everyone is relaxing from their travels and is at the height of anticipation for the con itself so there is a very positive mood. It also is one of the few times you'll see a pure isolation of AMV people so you know you have a few things in common with everyone.

Bottom line, come along :D Worst case we'll sit next to each other, be shy, and make fun of everyone else

Shyness is a big problem for me as well. Last year I barely spoke a word to anyone and one of the few times I actually talked to someone was to get one of the AWA compliation discs from Redwolf. I hadn't been sure whether I could make it or not and had already asked about getting a disc prior to AWA. I mentioned my member name...he didn't remember me. Of course I was expecting it, so :p

You'll always think you'll be shy. But when the actual dinner happens, you won't be able to keep your mouth shut.

I'd thought I'd be shy at AX and Akon but I felt quite at home after an hour or 2 and I'm an extremely shy person.
