upload crapiness

Postby Bebop0083 » Thu Jun 19, 2003 11:44 pm

ok i tried to upload my video using cute ftp pro. i upload the video the file says its complete transfering. but when i go to the confirm upload page it gives me some weird blank page and in the url it says windows system error or some thing like that. then no matter how many times i refresh it it keeps going to the same page. so then i have to disconnect the internet to get the page to work. sometimes it only loads part of my video and not the whole thing. is there a way to remove the video and try again?? i have several videos like that at least 11 that i want removed. how can i tell that the ftp has uploaded the full video?? any help is appreciated.

If your FTP client tells you the file size of the vid you're transferring (in complete bytes), you can compare that number to the number of the video you have to confirm or delete. But that's assuming you can get the confirm page to show. :?

Hey,

Sounds to me like you are confirming the video without checking the download first and/or confirming the video before the upload is completed. These are the only two possibilities for confirming a bad video upload. Here's what you must do:

1. When you upload a video, be sure that your FTP program says that the upload is complete with no errors/drop-offs.

2. After the upload is complete, test the upload by clicking on the link on the title of the video in the "confirm upload" page.

3. If step 2 is a good file, confirm the video by clicking the radio button next to the title of the video and then click the confirm button.

4. If step 2 is a bad file, cancel the upload by clicking the cancel button, request a new username/password for the vid, and try it again.

That should do it for you. I will delete all of your video uploads so that you can re-upload them.
